Stayed for 5 nights. Sheets on the bed were never changed and I got covered in little bites from bed bugs. Fan in the room didn't work so had to leave window open during the night. My bin wasn't emptied once during the 5 days. The lady came around twice to give me a new towel. Owner had no English... More

The room was spacious and very comfortable. All according to the photos posted. The owner was really friendly and welcoming. Beds were really wide and comfortable. Beware of mosquitoes, though. We couldn't get any sleep on the first night because of the incredible amount of mosquitoes that stung us. The next day we realized there was a Vape thingy to... More

Travelling on a budget during holiday. Location wasn't the best and although wifi was available, the connection inside our room was terrible. The rooms were old fashioned but cute. Not the most amazing experience but we were out all the time and was okay for a quick clean and rest.

+ good location (30 min walk to Duomo, near train Station Firenze Statuto), air conditioning, nice people - a lowered ceiling in the room (near two beds was impossible to stand up straight) (this was not mentioned in the description of room), only window to the staircase (not out) (this was not mentioned in the description of room), wrong wifi... We stayed here for two nights. It's cheap hostel and it has good localization - more or less 15-25 minuts from the old center of Florence. It has free wi-fi connection. The rooms are a bit vintage-old-fashined but are quite good. The staff was friendly.

It was a fine place to stay, no windows however but a nice air conditioning. The bathroom had a "shower" that wasn't much to speak of... really close to Firenze Statuto amd walking distance to the city center was ok

Terrible. We stayed in one of the double rooms and it was absolutely tiny (10 sq meter total incl. bath'room'). The floor was really filthy (our feet were black after walking barefoot) and the walls were dirty from all the killed musqitos. I didn't see air conditioning. No wifi signal. The shower is right next to the toilet and the... More

Staying in Santa Maria Novella

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Maria Novella
Santa Maria Novella train station welcomes the majority of the people arriving in Florence, which might explain the hectic pace. Commuters and tourists come across the constant hustle and bustle of the station before exiting, taking a few steps and stopping amazed in Piazza di Santa Maria Novella. It is impossible not to admire the the square, housing one of the most charming basilicas in Florence. The area has plenty of local spots to taste Tuscan specialties, but don’t stop in the main streets alone; the narrower side streets always ensure satisfaction. The huge Parco Delle Cascine provides a solution to the need for a green area as well as a historic welcome in the form of a bronze statue of King Vittorio Emanuele II riding a horse.
