The hotel is located close to the train station and has a lift, so no need to carry bags up five flights. The staff were generally pleasant and the breakfast was decent, although not as much variety as some other hotels. The room itself was not large, but it was mostly quiet and we had enough room to store our... More

Hotel Cantoria was about a 5 min walk from the SMN Train station, it was pretty easy to find. The hotel is located on the 5th floor of the building. It's been renovated and had a modern all white decor with a slash of color. The room was a decent size and had space. My only con was we had... More

Upon arrival I was pleased with the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel. The room was perfectly sized for a solo traveller and had all the required facilities for a pleasant stay. The wifi was fast and worked in all areas. The bathroom was amazing - possibly one of the best showers I have ever had.... More

We took a while to find the hotel as it was just a name-plate, amongst many others, at the side of a large cast-iron gate set back on the pavement. However, when we arrived at the 5th floor the lift opened onto a completely different world. It was clean, airy and light and the staff were very welcoming. The rooms... More

It isn't a big hotel. I believe it only has two floors and it wasn't easy for us to find it at first. But, it has a really good location, you can get anywhere from there, we did everything by foot, somethings were a little bit far but with all the eating we didn't mind a little walking. Breakfast was... More

Pretty short distance from the railway station and from the very centre of the city. Clean room, nice staff. The breakfast is enough, and we liked the strong real Italian coffee very much in the morning. The advantage is the location. In 5 minutes you can reach the central market, San Lorenzo, the railway station and other main sightseeings. Reasonable... More

Clean room, average price, awesome position (just 5 minutes walking from both city center and Florence SMN train station). On the other hand, breakfast was quite poor and beds were both too short (if you are taller than 180cm) as well as 1.5 wide rather than double for couples.

As a solo female traveller, this hotel was in a fabulous location - 5mins walk from the train station, 2mins from the leather markets & the Mercato Centrale, 10mins to the Duomo. The room was small but very clean, fresh, crisp white sheets, big fluffy bath towels and quiet. Being out all day you really only need a comfy place... More

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections.
