When travelling to Florence this is a great place to stay. First and formost you cannot dream for better location as you are a mere 100m away from the duomo and in the heart of Florence. All the major sites are but a nice stroll away from you. Furthermore the couple that runs the place are charming and very helpful....

Very good bed and breakfast the proprietors both friendly and helpful. I started my review by looking at what others had written mainly out of curiosity but was initially confused because it didn't seem like the same place being described. Well our review is of the bed and breakfast right in the town centre next to the Duomo and square,...

Great place to stay for a couple of days. Located right next to duomo, which is perfect. The hosts are a wonderful couple, the lady speaks English very well. Breakfast is included from 8 to 10. The room is air conditioned, which is essential for Florence in summer, however we were asked to not put the AC below 22 Celsius....

We loved our time here. Our room was incredibly spacious. Just make sure to let them know ahead of time when exactly you will be checking in. Maria was so helpful explaining how to get to all of the sights of Florence, and recommended some excellent local restaurants that we loved! Guido made us a simple but excellent breakfast each...

In one of the tallest bldgs in Florence, built in the mid 19th century. Charming manual elevator right out of an old movie. Maria helped us get reservations for the Ufizzi and the Academia. But the best? Their outstanding restaurant recommendations.

The entire feel here is amazing! The fact that this was built so long ago is very impressive. When you wait on the short line for your free access you can look at the amazing gold doors! Amazing art underneath dome but there is a disappointing basement with gift shop

Room was spacious with a super large bed - on suite bath-room was prefabricated and very small located in corner of room (a bit like a static van set up) but OK Location very good with effective double glazing. Breakfast was very poor -same everyday - brittle toast and over done croissant with mini jam selection. Over all disappointed with...

You are greeted by Guido and Mariagioconda. We had a very nice apartment with a seating area with view of the Duomo. Guido and Maria provide you with a very good orientation of the area along with a map and will answer any questions you have about Florence. They go beyond the call of duty. Maria is just out of...

Maria and Guido our hostess and host were welcoming and helpful. Only slight criticism was breakfast, was hoping for some fruit in Italy but a croissant was the order of the day. Coffee delicious though.

Staying in Duomo

Neighborhood Profile
Florentia, as it was called by Latins, is permeated by an eternal beauty spread in all corners of the city. The historic center is characterized by the immensity of the Duomo, able to transport tourists into the brightest age of Florence: the Renaissance. Who does not know the Brunelleschi Dome, San Giovanni Baptistery and the Giotto’s Campanile? Everything is enclosed here and it would be easy to imagine the city as it was in ancient times, with maids walking in the main square and horses carrying coaches. Nowadays, roads are busy with street artists. Rustic Tuscan bakeries give way to fashion shops; just stop for a few minutes in the middle of Piazza della Repubblica to enjoy the colors and sweet melody of the carousel that will bring back great memories from anyone’s childhood.
