Hotel check in staff were very helpful. My room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was great not too far from the hotel. The location of this B & B was fantastic. Would stay there again but would get a much bigger room. We booked a double room but was too small.
We visited Florence from the 7th to the13th October 2018 and stayed at the Al Duomo B&B. The B&B was in an absolutely fantastic location, right next to the Cathedral, Baptistry, Tower Bell and other major sites. The owners, Guido and Maria were extremely helpful and very kind and made us feel at home. Maria organised a superb tour for us of Siena, Chianti and San Ginigamo which was unforgettable. The tour included a 3 course lunch and wine tasting which was of top quality. We were close to all the restaurants so finding food was never a problem. The room was very clean, beautiful, large and airy with a small en suite. The sheets were pristine and were changed every 2 days, towels were changed everyday. We were very lucky to stay in such a clean and convenient B&B. There are just a couple of small negatives and that is the owners do not live at the B&B, they live elsewhere so if there is an emergency at night, there is nobody around. Also when we arrived at the B&B, we had to stand on the street with our cases until another tenant let us in. We then had to go to the 4th floor where we had to stand outside the B&B and wait until Maria arrived with the keys to let us in. The breakfast was very inadequate, just 1 croissant and about 4 tiny slices of French bread, some very small biscuits, a glass of grape fruit juice and tea or coffee. There were no boiled eggs or cheese, a very basic breakfast and for €120 euros a night, the breakfast could have been better. I would have rated this place 5 stars but because of the poor breakfast and the fact that the owners were not around, I have given it 4 stars. If you needed to speak to Maria or Guido, you had to email or phone them. Apart from these 2 small comments, it was a fantastic B&B, the location was first class and couldn’t be better. I would stay here again if we go back to Florence as it’s a great location and the owners are very kind too. Even though the breakfast is not up to standard, there are lots of lovely places where breakfast can be got for a reasonable price. I would highly recommend it.…
We loved our stay here in Florence in July 2018. Maria and Guido was very friendly and helpful and made us feel very at home. The unit is walking distance to all major sites and we would recommend Al Duomo for your stay and Florence.
A wonderful location. Right on the main piazza with a view of the campanile from our room. we had a double with 2 single beds, with an ensuite capsule type bathroom. Perfectly adequate. Location is amazing, with a front door just along from Prada and opposite the Armani store. The building is quite old with a lovely old manual lift. Air con in the room was great. The host were so lovely, Guido makes a terrific cup of coffee and breakfast consists of croissants and toast and fruit juice. Just enough to start the day. It's great to go for a walk around town and pop back in to drop off shopping or make a cuppa in the room. I'd certainly stay again and recommend this to anyone who likes a more personal stay.
Very nice B&B and great location right near Duomo. The single room is very small by any standards. Really more of a walk in closet with Twin bed. I had large Backpack luggage and it was a tight fit. Staff is super nice and the view from the terrace on roof is beautiful. Ask for the key.
