9 apartments situated inside a typical Florentine downtown villa built in 1860 by the ancestors of the present owners when Florence was preparing to become the capital of Italy (1865-71). The villa has hosted foreign artists and scholars. The villa' s beautiful wide terrace faces Porta Romana which is situated near the entrance of Boboli Gardens and the walls of Michelangelo Buonarroti. The entire building has been completely renovated in 2005 and divided into 9 independent units (6 one-bedroom apartments and 3 studios). All the apartments are fully equipped, completely independent with their own private entrance, bedroom, living room, kitchen area and bathroom with shower. Underground parking available upon reservation.

After researching online for months before traveling to Florence. I consider myself fortunate to have come across this apartment. I found the proprietors to be helpful and kind. A nice location is just outside the tourist area in the oltrarno, near Porta Romana. The apartments are quiet and clean with a washer and dryer on site. It’s easy to take in the ambiance of Florence with a short walk to the museums, while a large peaceful terrace welcomes you back to your rooms. Thank you Clara and Carlo for a wonderful stay!

I am very fond of the Oltrano district in Firenze. The cafes and restaurants are frequented by the locals and the autobus to Siena is a block away for an easy special day out of town. I really liked the fact that the Poggio Gardens have an enterance visible from the apartments. Nearby is great coffee bars, groceries, and fabulous dining places. The units are very well stocked, Clara is wonderful and helpful, and the neighborhood is terrific. I will return for two weeks in March for the second time!

I stayed for 7 days in the "giovanni" room. It was on the ground floor of the house. Although it's my first visit to florence but I think this place was a very lucky choice for me being solo. Carlo and Clara gave me all the help I needed and they help you with pleasure. The room was very cosy and had its own private bathroom and very useful kitchenette. It was almost at the heart of Florence, just by the porta romana roundabout. There you will find many shops that a tourist might need, a taxi station, an early morning fruit and vegetable cart. Plus many nice restaurants at the back street of the poggio street, mobile shop, gelateria shop, mini carrefour express market and more. Within minutes walking you can reach the famous ponte vecchio and by taxi less than 10 minutes to reach the art academy and uffizi gallery. The location was perfect as it is in a quite Street not in a busy area. In addition, there was a nearby bus station whether you need the city public bus or the hop on hop off tourist bus, all less than 5 minutes walk. The room was clean and neat, there is a laundry room for your own use from 9am to 10pm which was very convenient for me. Compared to other prices, I can see its much cheaper than other places plus you get to feel that you live in a warm home not a hotel. If I ever make it again to florence I am sure I will choose those apartments again.
