Very Disappointed by the service of the hotel and especially the receptionist , Mr R.....! The main reason we chose the hotel was because of private parking but when we arrived, we were informed it was unavailable. We chose to pay private parking although the receptionist suggested leaving the car outside the hotel and paying the parking ticket due to parking infringement. When he realized we were unsatisfied he was very rude, impolite and ironic. Eventually several months after our journey to Florence we received by post a letter of three penalty, 176.78 each ,from the Municipal police of Florence due to negligence and regardlessness of the receptionist to declare our car plate in order to have access and authorization to the ZTL (limited traffic zone) the day we left the hotel .Even though we repeatedly informed him about the time of our departure from Florence and he assured us that he had made the arrangements , he didn’t . When we communicated with the hotel and him to ask why this happened, he tried to put the blame on us and he didn’t even apologize for his fault. We ended up to pay all that money by our own.…
Great stay at Boutique Hotel Hugo ! My daughters and I really enjoyed the warm welcome from Rocco and the cosy atmosphere of the hotel. The location is ideal, only a few minutes walk from the Duomo. I highly recommend!
Since we were there for 3 nights during the hottest week in Florence, we would take a break every 3-4 hours and crash+shower; it's less than a 10-minute walk from the heart of the city and despite Florence is beautiful and we wanted to see as many sights as possible, we were also looking forward to get in our room in order to catch our breath as it felt like "home". Just like many other guests have mentioned, Rocco and -I think- his mom gave us great tips and local insight; they both were extremely nice and attentive. I would only point out (it's not a con!! I just think it might be helpful for disabled travelers) that there are four flights of stairs and the building doesn't have an elevator which wasn't a problem for us at all. Our room (number 10 I think), although it overlooks the street, was very quiet but somewhat small, maybe it had something to do with the fare we paid (just guessing!) and probably there are bigger rooms which I would definitely ask for if you are planning a longer stay carrying big luggage (we only had a clothes rack which, again, was fine for the three nights we spent there). In terms of comfort, the matress, pillows, shower head pressure and temperature...they all were perfect and all the furniture and materials looked brand new. The decor and general atmosphere are tasteful and stylish. Last but not least, since they strictly follow the Covid19 measures, breakfast was nice but the staff had to serve it on the table so that guests didn't walk around touching the food (this is a pro, of course, it's just that it makes you refrain from stuffing yourself first thing in the morning ;-)). So, all in all I definitely recommend the Boutique Hotel Hugo to those planning to visit Florence.…
We loved our stay at this hotel. Rocco and his mom are both super kind and really helpful! We felt like staying at home. The room was really nice and the air conditioner was perfect for those hot days and the location was really good. It allowed us to go back between activities to rest a bit or refresh.
Hotel Boutique Hugo in Firenze is a perfect place for your stay. Nice, clean, comfy and its location is perfect, just 10 or 15 minutes walk to the main attractions of the city (less than 5 to Galleria dell’Accademia, San Marco or Santissima Annunziata). Rooms and hotel facilities are extremely clean and breakfast is very good, served with love by the staff, which makes the difference. Rocco, the hotel manager, is helpful and friendly, and he will help you with everything you need. Good value for money. I definitely will stay here when I come back to Firenze.
Just a few yards off Piazza San Marco. This was excellent value for money in all respects - location, accommodation and high quality breakfast. Room was spacious, clean and recently refurbished. Our room overlooked the rear of the hotel and consequently had no noise during the night. Staff were very friendly and helpful with excellent with nearby restaurant suggestions. Will not hesitate to return and recommend to others.
I was initially worried by the reviews of all the stairs. However, once I got there and rang the buzzer one of the hotel staff ran down the stairs and carried my bag up for me, and then I barely noticed the stairs when leaving an entering. On checked in I was given me a map and pointed out a few the main attractions and how far they were/how to get there. It was so nice inside, very modern and well decorated. My room was lovely, the bed was comfortable, the shower was great. Breakfast was tasty. I would 100% stay here again and recommend it to other people. It’s about a 10 mins to Santa Maria cathedral and all the main streets which is perfect to not be in amongst all the tourists! Thank you to the staff for such a lovely stay! :)
I’m writing this review to defend the hotel against anyone who thinks having to walk up four very small flights of stairs is a reason to complain! It’s brilliant. Great location, great price, great rooms, friendly staff, nice breakfast. 100% recommended.
Hugo is just over a kilometer from the train station. We saw the queue for taxis and decided to walk to the hotel. It is a tough haul navigating rough narrow congested sidewalks pulling a roller suitcase, but it was faster than taxi given streets of Florence. The hotel was a floor in an old building, located on a busy street a short distance away from the crowds of Florence. It is a 15 minute walk to the Duomo. After finding its obscure doorway and being buzzed in, we were confronted with a hotel on the 2nd floor up 4 long sets of stairs. We were not expecting to have to carry our bags up to the hotel. Luckily a man came came down to help my wife with her suitcase. Our room was modern and clean with Q-size bed. No complaints aside from a bit of street noise. Buffet breakfast was standard Italian: boiled egg, cheese, cured meat, yogurt, bread, pastries, juices, coffee, tea.…
Great location for all attractions. Excellent breakfast to set you up for the day. Pleasant staff always happy to answer any questions and make recommendations for restaurants must visits are perseus and titos both fab. Modern clean well decorated room with mini fridge handy for water on hot days.very good value for money.
