A beautiful area to spend a couple of days. Pros - in a lovely area, bike rental, good security, big room and bathroom, friendly staff, close to bus station and cafes, 40 minute bus ride to Florence. Cons - wifi didn't work upstairs, booked a double bed room received a six bed dorm with two beds pushed together with a... More

The hostel itself is clean, comfortable, has a great breakfast each morning for only €3, and hosts a great communal area with a TV, card games, a sofa and ping pong table. However, this is not what made our stay so enjoyable. Declan (the owner) is potentially the nicest man I've ever come across, from sharing a bottle of wine... More

This was my third visit to Ostello del Chianti in the lovely town of Tavarnelle Val di Pesa and it is always very nice to go back in the heart of the Tuscan wine and olive region. The hostel is simple, spacious, tranquil and exactly located between Florence and Siena. The neighbourhood is very nice - a delight to talk... More

if you want to rest and stay in a place where you don't even have to take care of your stuffs, you must stay in Ostello del Chianti, where you can cook, meet cool people and stay away from the crowds.

I stayed here in 2012 and had a fantastic time. Now, 3 years later, I had the opportunity to visit Tuscany once again. Staying at the Hostel I met some great people and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. It's out in the Chianti countryside situated in a lovely little village so it's away from all the crowds of... More

The rooms and bathrooms were clean and quiet to sleep and there was a nice cheap breakfast. The location does take about an hour from Florence and if you want to visit Florence at night the buses don't work for that and you would have to get a cab but I must say that after spending the whole day walking... I loved this place from the moment I got off the bus from Florence. I felt right at home in the hostel, and the staff are lovely. It's located in a sleepy town in the Tuscan countryside, within walking distance of free wine tasting, a medieval town, supermarkets, restaurants and bars.

Came here with a friend. I changed my reservation more than once and staff was ok about it. I did not get charged for changing my reservation. Staff was great and friendly! They even had breakfast ready for my friend and me one morning, since we had to wake up very early to begin our trip to Rome! Very peaceful... More

A cheap hostel in a sleepy, small town. It's quite old and it shows in the rooms, the beds and the common areas. A decent, functional place for a one night stop while touring around Italy. Great staff - very friendly but the hostel lacks atmosphere.

Lovely hostel! We arrived late having got lost but the staff were understanding, helpful and SO friendly! I instantly felt at home and having come from the hustle and bustle of Florence it was was the perfect contrast; the village is small and peaceful and surrounded by Tuscany's finest countryside. If you want a little respite on your travels I'd... More
