Palazzo Uguccioni is located in Piazza della Signoria - in the heart of the city center. From the palazzo, you step outside into this famous piazza's open-air museum, and walk to all of the city's most famous monuments within minutes. We are around the corner from the Ponte Vecchio, down the street from the Duomo, a short stroll to Piazza Santa Croce, and only steps from the Uffizi. You can't find a better location from which to explore Florence! Palazzo Uguccioni Some of the most important Florentine palaces surround Piazza della Signoria, and Palazzo Uguccioni is in fact one of these splendid palaces. The building, with its noble and harmonious façade, was created for Giovanni Uguccioni by Mariotto di Zanobi Folfi in 1549 to a design by Raphael. From the ground floor, constructed with large ashlars forming three arches, two stories rise above and are divided by twin columns of the Ionic and Corinthian order which are set on plinths. On the first floor, above the entrance, is a bust of Cosimo I (currently being restored). It is in this magnificent building that our five charming apartments can be found and where one may experience an unforgettable stay and enjoy some of the most beautiful views in the world!

Terrible! Worst room ever! AC does not work, room never got below 85 degrees downstairs and was over 90 degrees in the loft. They know it is hot and have a fan but the fan was broken. Room is horribly small and cramped. Beds are small, hard and uncomfortable. Sleep was impossible. I want my money back! We were robbed!

We have just completed our stay at this VERY conveniently located apartment. The location next to the Signoria and the authentic Italian feel can easily bring you back to how Florence must have been in earlier days. The views alone are priceless. Getting "checked in" was a breeze. Sadly there is a catch, or a few catches. The room is very spacious but the air conditioner was woefully inadequate to cool such a space on hot summer nights...the loft was more like a sweat box and the only saving grace was the fact that between 11 PM and 6 AM it gets cool enough to get a few hours of sleep with all windows wide open. Do not bring children if that is your plan because the windows are open wide and the apartment is easily 5 stories......Good segway...the elevator, you will be asked to only have two people max on the elevator. Listen to that advice as it is a creaking, slow, hot and scary ascent/descent that is prone to random 2 feet drops, free fall drops followed by 10 seconds of nothing we survived but we all agreed one day. In summary, if you go to Florence between October and April 5 stars, between May and September stay away.....If you go, respect the elevator I am certian it is sentient.

I booked a room with a view(pictures were very deceptive) at palazzo uguccioni. When I arrived, I found the chairs were broken, curtains had no pull so they could not be closed, water pressure in shower was erractic, there was no mug, no saucepan to cook medium quantities of pasta, no dishrack, a diluted bottle of soap,no english speaking tv channels(owner accused me of breaking tv when they were too cheap to hook up cable)lots of mold in shower and kitchen, dryer not working. I asked manager to confirm credit card number i used for deposit. she did not forward information;instead owner emailed me to evict me. when manager did communicate my request to confirm credit card number i was "allowed" to stay. worst hotel experience i have ever had!

We truly enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The location is amazing. We loved looking out the window everyday and seeing all the activity in the Piazza. Very cute apartment for a family. It was nice that it had a washer and dryer. My only tip is to avoid the restaurants right outside the apartment - they were overpriced and served mediocre food. Just walk a few blocks away from the Piazza and you'll get a much better dining experience.

We stayed in the small romance suite and enjoyed the experience very much! Loved having the washer and dryer and the location could not have been better. We were right in the middle of everything! The lady who greeted us was very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay here again - and hope to someday soon!

We had booked a split level 2 BHI apartment. The apartment was spacious for a family of four. Small kitchenette ( within a cupboard ) , good enough to rustle up a breakfast for you. There is a common laundry facility available which is quite useful and all the laundry requirements are available on the house. The apartment is right next to Piazza Della Signoria and is walking distance from all major attractions. Good supermarkets and shopping facilities available right next door. Recommend it highly. The only disappointment was that there was an air conditioner in the lower level main bedroom but no vent for the split level bedroom. It would be at times uncomfortable in the split level especially if it was a hot day. There might be some apartments which might have a vent at a split level also , as when we raised the issue of split level being warm for comfort we were informed there is a vent , except that in our apartment there were none.

Our 2 bedroom, bath " Fantasia" apartment was perfect for our family of 5. Air conditioning, complimentary laundry facilities and a lovely hostess , Eletta, made this a perfect place for our Florence stay. Free WiFi, kitchenette and central location on the Piazza Della Signoria .

I loved this super quaint apartment right in the heart of Florence. It was very central to the big tourist attractions and was a very sweet and spacious place for 3 girlfriends traveling together. The staff is not onsite, so you have to rely on texting if you need anything. When we arrived there was no way to get in the building or signal we were there, so we had to find a way to call which is challenging overseas. We were also on our own for refills on things like toilet paper or trying to get a taxi. The free laundry service was a plus and the staff was responsive to texts.

The apartments might be good but you may not be able to rely on staff if things go wrong. We've been traveling for many years and until now, mishaps have always been minor. This time however, we experienced every traveller’s worst fear - having to return home urgently during a trip through Italy to be at a loved one's bedside during his final hours. When we knew we would be returning home we began to notify hotel and tour operators. Our stay in Florence was scheduled towards the end of the trip and thus Palazzo Uguccioni Apartments had plenty of notice of the cancellation. Our booking was prepaid. While we could not use the seven nights we had prepaid, we tried to redeem one of the nights when we were in Florence waiting to connect with a flight out of Rome to Australia. At every step, management’s mantra has been ‘we tried to help but we are not a hotel’. No one could greet us on the Sunday and give us access to the apartment. It was not possible to offer any kind of refund on the prepaid booking as the terms and conditions precluded this. Very interesting….. On the other hand, every single other tour operator and hotel with which we had bookings on hearing our traumatic news provided refunds. These included prepaid bookings with Hotel Piccola Marina in Manarola, Cassatta Travel, Hotel Silvio in Bellagio, Grupo Bassilichi, Trenitalia. These companies took the initiative, they spoke to Expedia and Booking.com and organised refunds. As I understand, both Expedia and Booking.com were pleased to help us. I don’t know if the management of these other companies have a greater understanding of how to navigate the booking system to help clients. What I do know is that in moments of stress and anxiety, such supportive response are extremely important. My take away learning from all of this: stay in hotels? Certainly patronise Hotel Piccola Marina in Manarola, Cassatta Travel, Hotel Silvio in Bellagio, Grupo Bassilichi, Trenitalia.

Stayed in this apartment last week of September with one other couple. We stayed in one of the apartments with two bedrooms and a common space - the Fantasia. The building and apartment felt extremely authentic to Firenze. We all felt very safe in this location as well. This is more of a residence type stay than a hotel stay, so there is no maid service or daily exchange of linens. However, there is a washer and dryer and the owner provides detergents/dryer sheets. This was excellent for our long stay. There is no office or front dest to talk with staff, but the manager is very responsive via phone or email. I would only heed warning to maybe older couples or those unable to maneuver small spaces well. One of the bedrooms in our apartment was up several steep stairs, and the room had a large beam on the ceiling requiring us to duck down to maneuver the room. For us, this was absolutely no problem and did not distract from a great stay in the least (Remember you are in a 500 year old building, and experiencing Firenze as you should). The location was perfect - views of beautiful fountains and beside the Uffizi and Gucci museum. The Circus cafe just to the left is amazing, and we had three excellent meals at Rivoire in the same piazza (square). I would absolutely stay with this residence again, and would refer to friends and family. Thanks for a great stay!
