hotel four floors up, but large four floors, in Canada equal to six floors, no elevator. If you are young no problem. Owner does not live on site. The room was not made up when we returned later that afternoon. Just not something I would honestly recommend

Lorenzo greeted us warmly, and there was a bottle of wine waiting for us in our 4th floor walk up room. The view from the small window was of rooftops, and sky - very romantic. The room was quiet, clean, an comfortable. We loved the location, near the train station and lots of restaurants. We did a lot of walking,... More

From the moment we arrived and met Lorenzo our innkeeper, he was nothing but friendly and pleasant. We were provided with keys to the room and building and were treated like part of his family. A small refrigerator was available for communal use and Lorenzo presented us with a complimentary bottle of wine. This is ideally situated near the train... More

We loved our stay in Florence and particularly enjoyed the location that the room was in. We were greeted warmly by Lorenzo on arrival and the check-in process was quick and informative. The room itself was spotlessly clean, had everything we needed and the bed was comfortable. We were given vouchers for breakfast at the local cafe. This was a... More

It is very well located and within walking distance of the main sights and train station. Lorenzo, our host, was very friendly and helpful on our arrival giving us lots of advice on where to go and what to see. The beds are big and comfy, there is a mosquito zapper in the room, shower gel and hairdryer in the... More

This is a very good value small hotel in a convenient location, A short walk from the bus and train stations and from the most popular attractions in Florence but just far enough away to be quieter than the more central streets. It's not fancy but it is clean and pleasant with some thoughtful touches such as the shared fridge... More

I don't understand Bed & Breakfast, that doesn't include any kind of breakfast? When we went to the hotel, we had to walk to third floor with our bags and then there was no one opening a door to us. We had to call to the manager and wait for him to come, so we could get in. Rooms were... More

The price is reasonable and the room is clean. I came to Florence at a very hot season and mosquito was a troublesome problem to us. If you come for Spring or autumn, I think it would be a good place to stay at.

Staying in San Lorenzo

Neighborhood Profile
San Lorenzo
San Lorenzo’s lively merchants shout out from behind stalls with an array of products in one of the most traditional neighborhoods in Florence. Different ethnic groups join together in the large outdoor market of San Lorenzo and in the Central Market, a vast multi-floored building. Visitors are bound to fall in love with this area and in particular, with its variety of food, especially those focusing on Florentine dishes as well as international selections. Nobody leaves San Lorenzo without a shopping bag in hand or with an empty stomach.
