If you are looking for clean, warm, friendly hospitality and personal service the Casa dei Tintori B&B in Florence, Italy is your answer.Casa dei Tintori is a careful and accurate restoration of a 13th Century building in the historic center of the city. While retaining its Medieval charm, the Bed and Breakfast is equipped with all the modern amenities, including air-conditioning, heating, private bathrooms with showers, TVs and a free fast Internet computer that enables guests to keep in touch with family and friends back home. Each of the five private guest rooms is decorated in period furniture and fabrics in patterns and colors derived from the Florentine tradition of Medieval textile dyers.Casa dei Tintori is located in a quiet, residential and very safe neighborhood with a variety of charming shops, good restaurants, and “ gelato “ stores that make life worth living. This central B&B in Florence is only a short walk from famous landmarks like the Uffizi Museum, the Pitti Palace and Boboli Gardens, the Ponte Vecchio which spans the Arno river, Santa Croce, Piazza della Signoria, the Duomo and many more.If that's not enough, there are famous statues, monuments and art galleries everywhere you look. There are, of course, high fashion stores, artisan and leather shops, open air markets and more restaurants than one can count. The Medieval building has an interesting history. Eight centuries ago it was a dyers' house, a large wool weaving and textile dying workshop. In fact thedistrict originally teemed with similar craft workshops under the aegis of "Arte dei Tintori" (Art of the Dyers). With the friendly help of your hosts, Alfredo and Valeria, the B&B Casa dei Tintori in Florence, Italy can truly be your home away from home.

Spent 3 nights in the red room and had a wonderful time visiting Florence. Ricardo was an excellent host who went out of his way to save us from our GPS misdirection and who provided great recommendations for dining and attractions. Overall the guest house was very clean and respectful of all COVID cleanliness and sanitary requirements. We enjoyed a simply served breakfast of coffees, juice, pastries and homemade cakes .... totally recommend!

Excellent B&B. Riccardo and Lavinia (& Lavinia's Mama!) were warm and welcoming hosts. Made it more like staying with friends or family, as opposed to a B&B. Great location, within walking distance of train station and museums. Grocery store across the street was very handy for microwaveable meals (you can eat in the kitchen), snacks, and most important - WINE! We stayed in the red room, which was HUGE! Great since we were in Florence for nine days. Everything was spotlessly clean, and all we had to do is ask if we needed anything. Breakfast was very tasty and had great variety over the nine days. Of all the B&B's that we've stayed at (and there are quite a few) hands down this was the friendliest and warmest. Would definitely recommend. Hope to return someday.

There are many reasons to love Casa dei Tintori---optimal location, historical significance as a lovingly restored Wool Dyers Shop, and cozy comfort of smartly decorated and well equipped rooms. Owners Riccardo and Lavinia helped us get taxies, make restaurant reservations, and plot out routes to our desired sight seeing destinations. They have a wealth of information and stories that they're only too happy to share, and we loved it.

Very good first impression. The owners are warm and helpful. Our room was spotless and charming, being in a renovated old building with an interesting history. The morning coffee was wonderful. The breakfast was graciously offered to us when we had to leave early on our last morning. The location is just a couple of few blocks from the Piazza della Signoria and the Piazza Santa Croce (fewer people and lively music). Many restaurants and shops nearby. Bus stops at the corner. Grocery store across the street. We stayed four nights and would stay again when we come back to Firenze.
