What can I say? This place was amazing. We visited quite close to the end of the season and there were only a few guests staying but everything was perfect. We had picked this hotel for the second part of our honeymoon for a bit of peace and quiet after some time in Florence. It really didn't disappoint. The room...

We absolutely LOVED our stay here. We did not want to leave. The family is so helpful and goes the extra mile. The food they served for dinner (duck in garlic butter sauce with berries - their pasta with truffle sauce - desserts ... and their delicious spread of breakfast was incredible. Not to mention the most beautiful property ever....

Large clean quiet room. Good restaurant on site. Nice open fields and walking area. About a km to the nearest shopping. You need a car here to get into Cortona. We rented a Vespa - very hairy on the roads! Eat the fruit and vegetables growing here right off the vine. Very helpful staff.

This property is just lovely. As you drive up towards it you are surrounded by farmland and sunflowers...we visited late August just as the sunflowers were being dried out. July is the best month to see them at their best. We stayed in one of the upstairs rooms above the reception. Our room had an upstairs section, allowing a third...

Spectacular place - family run with so many personal touches - highly recommended! Location is very central and is an easy drive to Siena, Florence, Montepulciano, Assisi, San Gimignano and 10 minutes to the town of Cortona. We drove to Cortona most nights around 10pm to enjoy the ambiance of the bustling piazza and cafés. Highly recommended!

We stayed here for 3 nights as we traveled across Tuscany. Just a short drive from Cortona, this quaint Tuscan Villa-esq hotel was the perfect fit for our travels. The rooms were warm and inviting with large vaulted ceiling overlooking beautiful sunflower fields. The staff was helpful and kind. The infinity-edge pool was delightful...just perfect after a long day of...

My family of 5, including 2 small children and a grandparent, just spent the most amazing holiday at an apartment in Terre dei Calalieri. The apartment, staff, pool, and food were all excellent. The staff went out of their way to accommodate every request we had. They even went so far as to set up a cooking class for us...

This hotel is amazing. It offers you extremely comfortable stay starting from nice check-in chat with the hotel staff. Hotel has really nice pool and garden. Hotel is surrounded by sunflowers. Breakfast is better than in five star hotels. Also the dinner is superb. We will come again. Big thanks to hotel management, staff and other quests.

I just cannot say enough goods things about our entire 10 night stay. The best place we stayed in our entire trip. We even changed plans to stay on longer. Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Our estate consists of a Farmhouse and a Leopoldina built in the 18th century during the extensive reclamation of the Valdichiana by the Grand Dukes of Tuscan. In times past they belonged to the Order of the Knights of St. Stephen and Malta. The Order used to protect the ancient Grand Ducal Farm of Creti and S. Caterina. The restoration of these buildings required some years of works during which the old "cocciopesto" plaster was restablished, walls with the natural stuccoed pigments were painted and where the structure of the fireplaces wee left unchanged, vaults of the old stable were empty and strengthened, columns which define the countryside were stuccoed.Today we can offer you this unique place to enjoy an intense and unrepeatable experience, making you feel part of an environment where things have remained unchanged and the past seems to be brought back to life everyday in its charm and character. You will be able to dine in a kitchen that used to accommodate over thirty people at a time, sleep in the bedroom converted from the old cattle shed where farmers used to spend sleepless nights watching over their cows delivering their calves, sleep in the "tracantone" bed, sleep in the bedroom located in the Loggia or in the bedroom converted from the old dove-tower, a shelter where doves were bred by farmers. Fireplaces will tell you and remind you of stories that were told gathering around them in the cold winter nights.Walls are decorated with paintings and pictures that will explain you old piece of life and tradition. The best images you will be able to behold will come, as if by magic, from the windows opening onto stunning natural settings such as the dark mountains hanging over Cortona, the sweet and seamless country-side and the noble profile of Cortona.Unique observation, scenes and tastes of true peasant life, a restful and relaxing effect, wealth of details interpreting the sense of place.Looking forward to having you here to discover many more things that words can not describe we would like to make a wish: that knocking on our door you may call beauty by its name. ... more   less
