Detailed Reviews
Villa Britannia is beautiful and a jewel in the crown of Taormina, just 5 minutes walk from the centre which offers guests a tranquil stay.
Louisa was amazing; she graciously organised all our transfers, informed us of the best restaurants and booked on our behalf without hesitation. This gave us the best seats in the house or on the balconies, thank you so much Louisa.
The Villa comprises of two generously sized rooms; ours had a large patio balcony with sea view which had two loungers, chairs and marble table, a great vista with drinks.
We had a great selection of continental breakfast everyday with additional items and always a large array of fruit and juices. Please ask for the poached eggs… it’s a must!
Nothing was too much for Louisa as she was an incredible host; warm and passionate about Sicilly and the local area, her knowledge enabled us to visit the best parts. This saved us time and money.
We participated in a cookery class and learnt some new skills, the chef Avenna (apologies if spelt incorrectly) was wonderful, very professional in her attitude and love of Sicilian food, always smiling and helpful in her style of teaching/ cooking.
We loved the food so much we asked for a private dining experience and even though it was short notice Louisa was willingly able to arrange. We loved her choice of wines, all locally sourced.
We recommend a boat trip along the coast and stop off at the Lido La Pigna for lunch, superb choice of seafood available, again ask Louisa to book, they considered Louisa to be their friend and showed us to the best seat overlooking the bay.
Rosmarino was our favorite restaurant; great food, hospitality and value.
The Villa is a great location for couples; families with children and people traveling alone, you will never feel alone with Louisa as she made our holiday a special experience. We felt like we’d met an old friend and can’t thank you enough Louisa for your warmth, hospitality and generosity.
We will come again soon.

From the moment you meet Marco and Louisa you are confident that your stay will be memorable. They have not only thought of everything but are always prepared to go the extra mile to ensure that you need for nothing. The villa is beautiful and with only two rooms it exudes a special feel. We stay in the Truman Capote room with a great terrace that included two sun-loungers and a table and chair set. A feeling of space was evident throughout the property. As the hosts were living across the road you had free run of the property which was a feast to the eye.
As mentioned by other reviews the breakfast was exceptional. This was preordered and delivered to your table. The choice, quality and quantity was amazing.
Thank you Marco and Louisa for a truly memorable experience.

When we travel, we often wonder if the places we select on line can be as good or better than what we see online. In the case of Villa Britannia, our 5 night stay exceeded our wildest dreams. Upon arrival at the Villa after a day long train ride from the Amalfi coast, we were met by the charming Louisa who owns the villa. The Villa is nested in the hills surrounding the city, but a short and easy 10 minute walk into the historical center. She quickly had us settled into the Truman Capote Suite and offered us a bottle of incredible red wine. We were her first guests of the season and the only guests, so we were able to enjoy the Villa as our own home. Every morning, Louisa offered us breakfast on the terrace. Breakfast consisted. of fresh tomatoes, olives, oranges, eggs, etc. and delicious coffee and served whenever we wanted. She also offers selection of wines to enjoy during your stay at a reasonable prices. One afternoon, she prepared us lunch after a cooking class for some other people. Some nights, we just elected to eat the Villa and enjoy the selection of the wine and the beauty of the home. Our room was comfortable and quiet with an expansive bath and a terrace with a stunning view. Louisa was always available as needed to help us with dinner reservations, advice on sight seeing and even ordered a pizza delivery for us one evening. She was a wonderful host and we plan to return. Taormina was beautiful and the Villa Britannia is the perfect place to stay.

We had booked this B&B pre COVID, and finally got the chance to visit for 5 days in Early September 22. It was certainly worth the wait. We had the best time, and Louisa was the best host you could ever hope for. We booked the 2 rooms, so had the house mainly to ourselves. It was our 1st visit to Sicily (Taormina), so we relied quite a bit on Louisa for recommendations on restaurants, beach clubs, tours etc, and all were 10/10. Don’t miss the Opera if you visit, it was amazing. We also did the cooking class with Elvira & Louisa. Just the 4 of us, eating what we had prepared, including amazing local wines. What a night! The Villa itself is beautiful. Incredible location, with amazing views over the coastline. Louisa is a star, she made us all feel so special, with no request ever an issue. We can’t wait to visit again one day soon.

Villa Britannia is one of those special places you will never forget! Me and my husband stayed here as our last stop on our honeymoon and we intentionally saved the best until last.
We arrived later at night due to flight times and Marco was there to greet us and impressively carry our really heavy cases , that were missing wheels from travelling round Italy by this point! It was a really warm welcome and he showed us to our room, we had booked the Truman Capote suite which was just beautiful and had all the facilities you could need.
In the morning we got to appreciate the beautiful view from the balcony. The breakfast at the villa is standout, so many options and all so fresh! Also just a really relaxed environment to eat breakfast and take in views of the sea!!
Whilst we were there we did a cooking class, again this was amazing, so enjoyable and would really recommend! The food was delicious and it was so fun to get to be hands on in the kitchen too. If you are staying here, I would really recommend you book onto one if you can.
Luisa was a fab host, giving us great recommendations throughout!
We hope to return one day in the future if we can . Thanks so much Villa Britannia for making our honeymoon, your place is incredible.

Taormina Stay
We had been booked into stay at Villa Britannia over two years ago and due to Covid this had to be postponed. We finally got to stay for a week in September 2022 and wow what a week we had. We stayed in the Villa which has two rooms with family members.
Both the rooms were spacious, clean and came with lovely patio areas to enjoy the views over Taormina.
Louisa our host had arranged everything for us from our transfer to and from the airport to recommending various restaurants throughout the stay she was fantastic. She greeted us on arrival like a member of her family and this carried on throughout our stay.
As with other reviews breakfast was a picture and whatever the combination a great start to the day.
The Villa is situated just outside the centre of Taormina, around a 5 minute walk into the centre, this makes the Villa so peaceful throughout day.
We were lucky enough to be able to both attend the cookery class and also organise a private dinner at the Villa, excellent, excellent, excellent.
We will be back, thank you Louisa for being a great host.
Ciao

Marco and Louisa are the ultimate hosts. The wonderful breakfast, helpful recommendations, and comfortable rooms made sure we had a relaxing time.
It was Marco‘s top priority to make sure we felt comfortable and safe during our stay, which was especially appreciated during this difficult time marked by Covid restrictions.
The Villa itself has wonderful rooms (just look at that view!).
5/5 highly recommended. Book here if you’re staying in Taormina.

In Taormina here is a gem of a B&B offering cooking classes. The grounds are lovely and the villa is beautifully and comfortably furnished. We had a cooking class there but did not stay there. Louisa and her staff are friendly, welcoming and kind. The kitchen is sunny with a big table for all of us together round and learn from the first female chef in Sicily. She is so talented! We had our meal on a long table set with linens, silver and wineglasses on a covered porch. It was a fabulous experience and was the highlight of our trip!

Villa Britannia is a gem! We booked this villa as we were traveling with 2 couples and it was a perfect choice. Louisa is a wonderful host and she makes you feel like it is your home while you are there. Her villa is very comfortable with comfortable beds and spacious bedrooms with balconies of beautiful views overlooking the ocean. There are gardens to enjoy. She provided us with a wonder driver Antonio who took us to great areas of interest, Mount Etna and a wonderful winery. Also a must is to take her cooking class which was excellent!! Can not wait to go back. She really treats you like family! ❤️

Our stay in Villa Britannia was absolutely magical. My husband and I, along with our three girls spent three glorious nights in this utterly captivating and charming villa, which boasts stunning sea views, spacious and comfortable rooms, and a decor aesthetic that is an artist's dream! We were welcomed by the kind, generous, and brilliant host Louisa, whose warmth and depth of knowledge about her city and the region was truly impressive. The food and drink were exceptional and we felt pampered throughout our stay. We were only saddened not to have been able to take part in the renowned cooking classes offered at the villa, but we are already planning our return trip and will certainly not miss out the next time!! We cannot speak highly enough of this beautiful and perfectly situated place. An experience that is not to be missed!
