I recently traveled to Taormina, Sicily and had the good fortune of staying at the Hotel Villa Schuler. There were seven family members, including myself, who stayed there. Each of us loved our rooms, the spectacular views and the central location of the hotel. Breakfast was served on the terrace overlooking the sea which only added to a delightful breakfast, The hotel staff was extremely friendly, helpful and always pointed us in the right directions for meals, sightseeing and great adventures. Yes, this was my second time staying at the Hotel Villa Schuler and hopefully next year will be my third visit. A special thank you to Gerhardt & Natalie! Dan Foxx

Sarah and I loved our trip to Taormina and our stay at Villa Schuler. We did the pre paid breakfast and included the parking in our stay. I can not tell you how beneficial and nice it has been to not worry about parking on these tiny streets. Being at Villa Schuler you are close to the action of the street. Plenty of good food including with Chef Delfo at St. George Restaurant. Our trip could not have been any easier especially with the assistance of the front desk and Marco. Marco brought the car around, delivered beverages to our door. Very good spirit with him. I hope he stays long enough to become General Manager! We truly enjoyed an incredible few days and will be and continue to be the honeymoon of our dreams! Thank you Team!

Dear BrentandSarah789, thank you for the long list of compliments about our hotel, the convenient panoramic position, the services, and especially the nice, touching words about our staff. Our fully vaccinated staff is indeed the heart and soul of our hotel, many of them have been working here with us for years, they are actually part of the Villa Schuler family. We took note of your proposal to upgrade Marco’s position. He is indeed incredibly active, dedicated, competent, helpful, and loyal. We showed him your comments, a ray of sunshine all over his face and we saw again his good and genuine soul through his smile. Your comment made us all happy and also a little proud. Marco told us he remembered you well and asked us to y thank you when replying to your review. We are all looking forward to welcoming you again, next time for one of your forthcoming wedding anniversaries? We spent 2 nights at Villa Schuler. the hotel has a wonderful location in Taormina and the view is spectacular. Except for that there is not much to mention. we opted for a flexible room as we expected Taormina to be very touristy and we got a very old room, decently clean, but definitely claustrophobic. for being in Taormina the price was convenient - 110 euro per night, accommodation only. but then i would not probably again spend 2 nights at Villa Schuler. some of the staff was nice, some other a bit rough - especially at the reception: ´milking the cow´ was the feeling we got - but, as said, we were kind of expecting that and that is the reason why we did not invest in a better room. possibly our choice of room was also the reason for the treatment we received. all in all, it was a good choice for the money and location; but we are not going to be back and in hindsight would not book there.

For the traveler, the good thing about TripAdvisor is the right to criticize. For the hotelier, it is the opportunity to assess performance, shortcomings, and the potential for improvements that can definitely enhance service quality. For an objective approach it is necessary to distinguish between statements of fact and value judgments because if the materiality of the facts might be proven, the accuracy of the latter does not always lend itself to be demonstrated. Difficult therefore for us to understand the nature of some of your contradicting statements about the reserved room: "convenient price", " good choice for the money and location“ alongside your unspecified and not circumstantiated „milking the cow“ accusations. We double-checked your reservation, the allocated room, and your bill. You reserved the lowest off-season entry rate directly on our own website, so even cheaper than rates published through other online travel agencies. You booked a „flex rate, room change/s foreseen“, you were allocated our economy standard double, obviously not our largest one, and you were not even forced to change room. For the reported amount you received a perfectly working standard double room (no faults reported during your stay), including complimentary daily water in the room plus our off-season bonus of a daily, complimentary valet parking space in our garage, city tax also included in the rate you mentioned. No other charges added to your bill that could possibly explain your unspecified and not circumstantiated milking the cow accusations. The other part of the review that we firmly reject is where you claim to have been treated badly because you had chosen the cheapest room. The fact that you add "we expected it" long before arrival, contains an intrinsic prejudicial approach sadly brought from outside. Running this traditional hotel for us is not a job but a way of living since 4 generations and means trying to always be genuine ambassadors of our island, so we are sorry we did not meet your high expectations. This was our 9th visit to the Hotel. However the main part of the hotel is closed for the season due to the pandemic. Gerhard, Christine and some of the staff have become friends. They offered us the Garden Villa on a self catering basis which we accepted. It had everything you needed, 2 bathrooms, one with a shower and one with a bath, a sofa and TV area, which was also a sofa bed, a small compact kitchen with a dishwasher, fridge, microwave, cooker and a separate bedroom with a TV. Outside was a seating/sunbathing patio, with garden furniture and a warm outside shower. It is attached to the hotel but has its own entrance through the garden. It was easy enough to go to the supermarket to buy food for breakfast, I never cook when on holiday !!! The fridge was stocked with wine, water and soft drinks and fresh fruit was available. You have the garden for your own use and if you need any help you could ring reception. So if you are thinking of going to Taormina and want to stay at the best hotel there is... book the Garden Villa... you will not regret it

Dear soobroo99, nine times here! Gratifying to read that as a loyal regular guest you also liked our Garden Villa Suite. Till our reopening March 6, 2021, it is the only accommodation type available this winter. Loyal guests like you mean a lot to both of us because it’s like a big family community reflecting our way of running the oldest owner-run hotel of Sicily. Traditions kept alive every day mixed with reliable technologies and our love for this way of living the hotel. Yes, the Garden Villa Suite is the ideal solution for those who want a private accommodation, with an independent entrance, inside the largest garden in the historical center of Taormina, with lots of space and quality services. A different quality of holiday, individual, the freedom not to have schedules, not having to share the use of common areas, absolute privacy, the freedom to shop in the alleys around the park or at the town market and eat what you prefer, in private accommodation with plenty of space, a modern and functional cooking area, availability of parking and garage, right in the historic center of Taormina with clearly all trattorias and restaurants within walking distance in 2-3 minutes. Isolated with lots of choices. We are happy to read that you enjoyed the Garden Villa Suite. Looking forward to the pleasure of welcoming you again for your announced 10th stay here, “arrivederci a Taormina” Christine and Gerhard Schuler owners and manager Hotel Villa Schuler, Taormina link to the Hotel website at the top center of this TripAdvisor page

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Schuler in the garden villa. The main hotel is closed for the rest of the year so I can't comment on the main hotel, but the garden Villa has remained open and is spacious and comfortable, with a great outdoor shower. The gardens are stunning and we had them to ourselves. The location of the hotel is great, just down some steps from the main street in town. What made the stay extra special was the owner Gerhard who was extremly helpful in booking us beach clubs and restaurants during out stay.

Yes, our Hotel will stay closed until March 5, 2021, due to codiv-19 related lack of reservations, but... ONE ACCOMMODATION IS ALWAYS BOOKABLE: our Garden Villa Suite in Self-Catering and we are glad to read that you enjoyed your recent stay there. As you said, the HOTEL VILLA SCHULER GARDEN SUITE is a comfortable, exclusive and independent 48 m² Suite located in our large exotic, well kept botanic garden, right in the historic center of medieval Taormina. As you experienced, staying here means having the LARGEST GARDEN IN THE TOWN CENTRE FOR YOURSELF!!! The Suite inside our own garden area has private access, one bedroom, one living room, two bathrooms, a brand new kitchenette and an outdoor patio-solarium with sitting area, sunbeds, electric awning, and outdoor hot shower. Total area 80 m², easily accessible by car with parking facilities. Before each new arrival, comprehensive disinfection of the entire Suite is guaranteed using cleaning agents containing alcohol and chlorine as well as an additional antiviral treatment of all rooms with a professional OZONE generator. We as hosts live inside the hotel so there is always somebody available for any emergencies and we are happy to read that our suggestions and the things we organized for you were so helpful. The most important thing when staying at a self-catering accommodation is the good feeling of finding a place that is Clean&Safe, of being welcomed and personally, discreetly looked after and we are glad to read that you felt and enjoyed exactly that. Thank you George R for your beautiful words. We are looking forward to welcoming you again on your announced next stay here at our Villa Schuler Garden Villa Suite.
