Spent a relaxing week at this lovely villa hotel. Very welcoming and helpful staff. You will need to know some Italian but this makes it all the more fun. Very clean room and well looked after at breakfast with healthy selection. What is lovely is the terrace with breakfast tables in the sun with sea views. Good location close to giardini-Naxos beaches or the train station which is a short walk. If you want to go to Taormina then catch the etna blue bus service for 3 euros return. There are frequent buses and the last one leaves Taormina bus station on return at 11.15pm. Taxis are more expensive but easily available. We had a daytrip on the train to Syracusa which was well worth it and good value. Taormina is wonderful to explore and take your time, don’t rush it. The Greek theatre is impressive and the gardens nearby very tranquil. Also go up the steps to the chapel and Saracen castle overlooking Taormina. Great views and good exercise. Would definitely return to this special and beautiful corner of Sicily. …
This hotel is one of the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. Our rooms faced the sea with a nice view and balconies, the rooms are simple and immaculately clean. We received a friendly welcome on our arrival late in the evening, this was followed up with friendly and attentive staff during breakfast. The breakfast buffet selection was generous and the coffee good. Very quick drive up the hill to the Porta Catania Car park for easy access into Taormina. Easy walk down to the seaside promenade / beaches / restaurants at the northern end of Naxos.
This hotel’s greatest asset is its charming and wonderful staff. We arrived at a lunchtime and were quickly Settled by the pool, with towels, drinks and fantastic sandwiches provided by the delightful Giovanna. She and her husband were kindness itself and the whole Family have an input. Breakfast was superb. It’s a long and dangerous walk uphill along pavementfree narrow streets to the town centre but the taxis we we asked for were quickly there and well worth it. I’d go back there for the lovely room and lovely staff.
The pros of Hotel Villa Sirina are the staff is very hospitable. The cons are many: the hotel is located a distance from Taormina proper. You will need a car to go to the beach, restaurants, shopping, churches, museums, etc. to truly be in Taormina. The hotel advertises ocean view which would lead you to believe it may be beachfront. The ocean view is quite a distance away and could barely be seen from the hotel. The hotel advertises it has a restaurant. After a long trip from the US we arrived hungry and thirsty. However, the restaurant is only open for breakfast. I would not recommend this hotel if you are looking for a convenient location with ocean view and a restaurant on site.
We wanted to visit Taormina and on the strength of reviews chose this hotel. It is a family-run establishment. All was well enough with the place apart from the man in reception (the boss) who was the least welcoming of all our hosts in Sicily. The staff were lovely and our room was very nice if a little dated. Rooms are on 3 floors and there is no lift. We enjoyed excellent breakfasts on our two night stay and the pool, although small, was pleasant. Views from some rooms will spot the sea in the distance but the dominant sight is buildings. Parking might be difficult in high season as there seemed to be far fewer spaces than rooms. Would we stay here again? Probably not. It was considerably more expensive than several other options and we would try elsewhere.
