When we arrived the view was amazing as are cases were collected and taken to our room .We we’re met by Juliano who was courteous full of energy and bearing Prosecco which always helps .Juliano continued to be so helpful advising where to visit organising restaurants and booking taxis .the room had the best view however I would have preferred a window in the room and the patio furniture could be more comfortable ...

At the end of the service, the head chef came and spoke with guests and we found he'd had a very good career to date, working in some of the best locations and restaurants... All the hotel staff were lovely and very attentive without being overbearing as can be the case in good places!... A special mention to Max, who was there each day and made us feel very relaxed and at home... Unfortunately we don't know the rest of the teams names but from the moment we entered Villa Ducale, everyone made our stay even more memorable and special...

The staff were always so attentive, helping us get a last minute taxi from Palermo airport during the closure of Catania, arranging for a cold platter to be left in our room on arrival and ensuring we had everything we needed during our stay... Giuliano speaks excellent English and helped to arrange a trip to Etna with Giovanni (a very knowledgable guide and driver) who also took us to our wine tasting at Gambino... The service at breakfast was also not the best... They were often out of fruit or other food platters and very slow to replace them... The staff did not always offer coffee and never asked if you wanted a second cup... The cocktail service could be slow also... But the dinner service was very good and the food was excellent... It is a 20-25 minute walk downhill into town and uphill back... They have a shuttle service you need to book in advance but the available times are limited... It does not start until 11 am and the last service back is 10:45 pm...

They have a shuttle service to four different beaches and the shuttles run frequently so you have lots of options on times... Since the hotel is so high up in the hills, they also have a shuttle down to corso Umberto, but if it’s cool enough, you can walk...

We have visited this hotel many times and have never once been disappointed. The view must be the best one in Taormina and the warmth of the welcome from the staff is second to none...

There is a shuttle service as well to take you to town that we used as well... Breakfast was delicious and we had dinner in the restaurant and the food was excellent and the views even better!... We used the pool after our walks up the stairs back to the hotel but it is not heated and so was quite refreshing!... The room was lovely and the bed was comfortable...
