We have recently returned from our holiday staying at this hotel for 10 days. This was our third visit to the hotel in as many years. In spite of the difficult circumstances resulting from the COVID crisis the staff at the hotel did an outstanding job and offered excellent personal service. We will be back again next year.
In the beautifull contest of Taormina, the Ariston hotel is a nice and old fashion hotel with a beautifull view of the sea. The swimming pool is nice but it's 2,40 meters deep and not confortable for kids. The restaurant is closed. Breakfast is poor and there are few people to help. This place could be one of the beautifull hotels in Taormina, but it needs some effort and investment in quality and personel.
Impressively beautiful hotel with garden and pool. Very helpful and polite staff. Many safety measures in place and well respected. We‘ve got an upgraded room with a cute balcony and beautiful sea view. The room was comfortable and had all amenities. There was a good variety of food in the breakfast buffet and mocaccino in the coffee machine! The hotel is a bit secluded but very close to the funicular, stairs to Isola Bella, amphitheatre and main street. The bus station is right at the back exit of the hotel. The WiFi was weak and kept disconnecting, and there was often no network to use even own internet. The hotel is charming but the interior with many facilities are quite old and need refurbishment.
The city had changed. Hotel Ariston had changed appearance. But the mood is still there.Tthe pedestrian street looked like itself even though there were new shops, Greek theater is an experience. Many exciting restaurants.
We stayed at the hotel for 7 nights. We were given a warm welcome by Maurice & the most beautiful room with a stunning sea view. He thoroughly spoilt us during our stay. The pool & surrounding areas were very clean & the gardens were beautiful. We had a fantastic time. Thank you to all the staff.
