This is a relatively new hotel and it is indeed one that has had a lot of effort put into it. The reality versus the photos online is much better. Whilst this hotel lacks a spacious lobby, the big smiles and excellent service of the front office personnel are truly what greets one upon entering or leaving the premises. The staff in this hotel is truly pleasant and efficient and not impersonal as one would find elsewhere. Junior suites are a must, decorated all in white with slight touches of beige in a very spot on attempt to re-create the feel of a chic home bedroom. We are talking about very comfortable rooms, with good quality bedding, and what needs to be highlighted is the very efficient and punctual Housekeeping. Well done to them. Bathrooms are very spacious and reminiscent of classical marbled bathrooms of old Italy. One minor issue is the height of the bathtub which unless you are very tall it can be tricky to step in or out of it. El Jebel is a Moorish architectural gem in the heart of Taormina and boasts a rooftop tower where one can enjoy drinks during sunset and take photos of the spectacularly picturesque view of the Sicilian roof tops below. I would revisit this hotel anytime. …
We spent amazing days in this gorgeous hotel, located in the heart of the historical centre, near the nightlife but in a quite and panoramic area. Our advice: when you reserve your room, ask for the third floor luxury suites (if they are still available)...stunning view and Arabic style...you will love them! Friendly, attentive and welcoming staff, very good breakfast, clean and comfortable rooms, great partner restaurant near their premises. Las but not least, they provide a partnership with a private beach with a sea water pool, arranging your shuttle service(included in the beach membership rate). Warmly recommended for a carefree stay, we are looking forward to coming back next year!
We loved our stay here. Hotel was quiet yet 20 steps away from all the action on Corso Umberto. Our suite was spacious, clean, and comfortable for our family of four. The concierges were so helpful with finding non-touristy restaurants, tour guides for day trips to Siracusa and Noto along with a beach day.
I was very much looking forward to staying here. Sadly I cannot say that it was a great stay. The hotel was in a good location, and our room and bathroom were a pretty good size. We had a view of the bay which was nice. So everything seemed great until the morning. We were there for 3 nights, and all 3 mornings we had a cold shower, and I don't mean lukewarm, I mean cold. Breakfast was basic, and you had to be there early or eat the scraps. There was only 1 gentleman there, nice friendly guy but if he was busy with someone's egg order he was nowhere to be seen to take my cappuccino order. Poor guy could have used another person to help out. Despite the complaints about the physical plant and the lack of staffing, all the staff, particularly at the front desk, were very nice and helpful. I praise them very highly. I doubt I would go back to Taormina, but if I did, sadly I think I'd look for another hotel.…
Located in the heart of the city next to the Duomo. Couldn’t be more central. Few rooms. Excellent staff and very well trained. Difficult to find fault. Annelisa is a star. She was outstanding. Housekeeping and F&B are excellent as is the bell desk team. Only caution - it’s a long walk when you check in so get guided properly. No second thoughts.
