First and foremost, the location cannot be bettered. We had a couple of nights in the Sale Grigio, which has a quirky 'upstairs' bathroom, but all the half-dozen rooms will be different, so that's not very helpful in a review. Two comments. First, breakfast is OK, but the breakfast room risked being swamped when there were eleven people eating, as...

A great, relaxed place to stay, huge gorgeous room with terrace, very comfortable bed and perfect pillows. Very clean. excellent bathrooms. Lovely and big breakfast and very helpful staff. The location is terrific in the South of Ortigia - turn either way and you are at the sea in 2 minutes! You don't get daily cleaning and the reception is...

We also enjoyed our stay at Palazzo del Sale. Giovanni was very accommodating for our late-night arrival. The location was perfect for exploring and the rooms were large and clean. We only wish that Giovanni had been either been at the front desk more often during his hours or that there was another way to locate him during those hours for...

We really enjoyed our 10-day stay in the Blu room, for the following reasons:- 1) The room was spacious, quiet, clean, comfortable and well decorated, with high ceilings 2) The room had a terrace; ideal for reading and relaxing 3) The breakfasts were more than adequate, with a good selection, which altered each day 4) Giovanni, the co-owner, was helpful,...

What a charming small, boutique hotel this is - I'm so glad we chose Palazzo del Sale ... the room was perfect, location great and the uniqueness was what made this such a lovely spot to spend 3 days in Ortigia. Our room was at the back with the canopy over the bed, just a small balcony but it was...

Our bedroom was on the front with a small balcony for 2. Rooms are huge with high ceilings. I imagine could sleep 4. However the breakfast area is a bit squashed if all the residents turn up at the same time. I think it is slightly overpriced, but this may be down to its location. Owner was slightly late and...

Giovanni, runs the show here, and does a great job of making you feel at home. The building itself looks like nothing from the outside, but once inside it is clear that a lot of care and work went into the refurbishing. Breakfast is great, the service is excellent, and it is located in a convenient part of what to...

We stayed in the Grigio room, which, I suspect, may be one of the smaller rooms. It was a lovely little room, however the bathroom was a bit odd and small, and had a strange odor. The layout of the bathroom meant that there was nowhere near the sink to easily put your toiletries. I would try and pick a...

I fully enjoyed my stay at the Palazzo del Sale. I booked the "blu" room (photo with the blue bedspread and blue ceiling beams on the web site). This room has two sets of French doors and a bathroom window (three exposures) that allow a nice breeze in the room (great A/C, too). The bathroom is small but sufficient (shower,...

Our room Fior di Sale was truly lovely...spacious, bright high ceilings, comfortable, with a small balcony facing a quiet street yet right near all the hustle & busle of Ortygia. The washroom was large and modern with a rain shower. The breakfast area/lounge was right outside our room yet we never heard any noise from there or the other rooms....
