Our bedroom was on the front with a small balcony for 2. Rooms are huge with high ceilings. I imagine could sleep 4. However the breakfast area is a bit squashed if all the residents turn up at the same time. I think it is slightly overpriced, but this may be down to its location. Owner was slightly late and... Giovanni, runs the show here, and does a great job of making you feel at home. The building itself looks like nothing from the outside, but once inside it is clear that a lot of care and work went into the refurbishing. Breakfast is great, the service is excellent, and it is located in a convenient part of what to... More

We stayed in the Grigio room, which, I suspect, may be one of the smaller rooms. It was a lovely little room, however the bathroom was a bit odd and small, and had a strange odor. The layout of the bathroom meant that there was nowhere near the sink to easily put your toiletries. I would try and pick a... More

I fully enjoyed my stay at the Palazzo del Sale. I booked the "blu" room (photo with the blue bedspread and blue ceiling beams on the web site). This room has two sets of French doors and a bathroom window (three exposures) that allow a nice breeze in the room (great A/C, too). The bathroom is small but sufficient (shower,... More

Our room Fior di Sale was truly lovely...spacious, bright high ceilings, comfortable, with a small balcony facing a quiet street yet right near all the hustle & busle of Ortygia. The washroom was large and modern with a rain shower. The breakfast area/lounge was right outside our room yet we never heard any noise from there or the other rooms.... More

I stayed for 1 week at this small hotel. Double room, top floor, I highly recommend it. The room is very spacious, high ceiling, very airy. Great air conditioning; comfortable bed. Quiet at night time; its a very small hotel, so not much noise, no traffic. Small balcony and very large terrace with table and chairs and 2 loungers. No... More

The hotel is very close to Fonte Aretusa down at the Southern tip of Ortigia. It is a short (10-minute) walk to the Duomo, but on a quiet little street off the tourist track. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, and the common area is very welcoming. Breakfasts featured homemade pastries, the best fresh-squeezed blood orange juice, and very good... More

This bijoux hotel is in the heart of the narrow streets of Ortigia. The room we stayed in was large and beautifully relaxing as are the common parts. How lovely to come off the hot busy streets and collapse into inviting coolly designed sofas with a cup of Earl Grey tea. The breakfast is of a high standard with plenty... More

It was our first stop in Sicily. Ortigia is an island and an old town of Syracuse. You can get to anywhere on the island in less than 15 minutes so it doesn't matter much the location of the accommodation, it is easy to get around it. We had a very pleasant stay at Palazzo del Sale. We had a... More

The room was spacious with a high ceiling. Everything was well done and clean. Giovanni, the manager, provided exceptional service. He couldn't do enough to make our visit just right. Nothing but good things to say about this place.
