I made arrangements to stay at the Jolly Aretusa after another reservation I made for a group of 16 college students fell through. I had stayed at the Jolly Aretusa many, many years before, and I knew that the location was very convenient to both Ortygia as well as the Archaeological Museum and Park. I was not quite sure what... We have just returned home from a five day visit to Siracuse. Our stay at the Jolly Palace had not been pre booked; in fact it was a heavenly sent haven for us when we found that the previously booked hotel was a disaster. We were given two very well appointed rooms on the 5th floor with two big windows,... More

This is probably one of the worst hotels that I have ever stayed in. The hotel itself is very outdated and the rooms look like they haven't been updated in 30 years. The shower is quite a time saver - it sprays water all over the room so that you can shower and sit on the toilet at the same... More

The Aretuso is regarded as being in the centre of the city but it depends on what one would classify as "in the centre". The Aretuso is just off a short shopping street about 4 minutes away from the Archeological Neaopolis site. However if you want to go to the old part of the city, one would have about a... More

Stayed here for one night as part of a group. We had a lovely, large comfortable room and the food was not bad either. Location was not central and this was a drawback. Staff were very helpful, assisting us with directions to a pharmacy and grocery store and getting us a padlock for one of our suitcases. Good for a... More

Miss Costanza and the front desk was a great help. Even after we checked out she helped us a lot. The handy man, restaurant manager and his staff were so cordial. The room was big and the kids had a ball. The shower was great! Overall a nice experience. Breakfast not good though and was quite a damper.

Stopped here on a cosmos tour, firstly, our airconditioning did not work, we complained and then the lady at the front desk offered a smaller room, however, this room you couldn't even open a suitcase in and the airconditioning did not work in that room either, she was very hesitant to give us another room as she said in Italian... We were here with a cosmos tour and our dinner was fantastic, the room was good but the air conditioning and fridge didn't work properly, but the chaps serving our dinner, one in particular were lovely but the reception and bar staff were surly and rude. I would not recommend or stay here again, and that is rare for me.... More
