Near enough to walk to Ortigia and walkable form station with light luggage. The immediate area has nice cafes and bars with a local feel and interesting shops (eg a specialist lute/stringed instrument shop and a bookshop/publisher. The bar opposite seemed very empty and closed before midnight. Our very spacious room overlooked the street with lots of traffic noise during...

We asked for a quiet room, so had a room looking out onto an air vent but it was quiet. It is a bit run down but has a nice structure, is handy for getting about and has a good breakfast. There is a public parking 2 mins away for €10 a day.

Generous-sized, clean and nicely furnished family rooms. Wide choice of wonderful Sicilian pastry at breakfast. Impeccable courtesy of multi-lingual staff. 20 min. walk from quanty Ortigia presqu'île. Good quality-price ratio.

Basic hotel close to Isola di Ortigia where the classical monuments are: Templo di Apollo, Duomo, Castello. Welcoming staff who were really helpful about parking (pretty much anywhere if you can get away with it like the rest of Italy). A luxury spa bath. Keep an eye on the overflow. Surrounded by many cheap eats and lots of fascinating people...

This was our second stay at Grand Albergo and I doubt it will be our last. The staff are so welcoming and kind, everywhere is very clean, rooms are spacious, beds large and comfortable and there is all you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was even better than last year, although I would give Americano coffee a miss and...

This is what all others hotels want to be. It actually has a small(ish) room so perfectly designed that it is highly desirable. The location is perfect, the building beautiful, v. quiet, nice breakfast, and such high level, pros at the front desk. If you can, stay there.

Although this hotel was not located on Ortigia Island, it was just a 5 minute walk to the island. The staff was very obliging, the rooms were very comfortable, the AC was very good. We stayed in this hotel via the Tour Operator, "Tour of Sicily".

This is a beautiful hotel with a welcoming, professional staff. The room was huge with a very comfortable king-sized bed and lovely rugs on the floor. Breakfast was excellent (with the exception of the coffee machine which produced only lukewarm americanos on 4 different mornings. They should make the coffee fresh like all the other hotels we stayed in around...

We were very happy with this hotel. Comfortable room, helpful and friendly staff. Pleasant location in oleander-lined streets. Short walk to Ortygia. Small gripe - no surface in bathroom (except the sink) to put one's toiletries.

As you walk into the htel you are enveloped in a cool, calm place. Reception staff are a delight and speak good English. The breakfast had a good choice and dinner was served by enthusiastic staff and a pleasant maitre'd. Our room had efficient air conditioning and was modern and clean -- with a surprise which was our own little...
