We stayed 2 nights. The rooms are large and confortable. The hotel is located at 10 minutes walk from the historic center. The breakfast is ok. The biggest issue we had was the very poor quality of the wifi. The wifi works fine in the lobby but the signal is the room is very bad, cutting all the time. Impossible...

We stayed here in September 2016 and were advised before arrival that the air-con was out of service for several days for repairs. They placed fans in the rooms and reduced the rates - so it ended up being reasonably comfortable. The place is showing signs of a lack of maintenance but is clean and comfortable. Reasonably free from street...

Stayed there (just the one night) while visiting Syracuse. Staff were excellent and the service very good. Couldn't have been more helpful in parking the car (always a bonus in a city location like this) and the room was clean and reasonably spacious. Food was actually very good and we couldn't fault the service. Syracuse was fab.

Near enough to walk to Ortigia and walkable form station with light luggage. The immediate area has nice cafes and bars with a local feel and interesting shops (eg a specialist lute/stringed instrument shop and a bookshop/publisher. The bar opposite seemed very empty and closed before midnight. Our very spacious room overlooked the street with lots of traffic noise during...

We asked for a quiet room, so had a room looking out onto an air vent but it was quiet. It is a bit run down but has a nice structure, is handy for getting about and has a good breakfast. There is a public parking 2 mins away for €10 a day.

Generous-sized, clean and nicely furnished family rooms. Wide choice of wonderful Sicilian pastry at breakfast. Impeccable courtesy of multi-lingual staff. 20 min. walk from quanty Ortigia presqu'île. Good quality-price ratio.

Basic hotel close to Isola di Ortigia where the classical monuments are: Templo di Apollo, Duomo, Castello. Welcoming staff who were really helpful about parking (pretty much anywhere if you can get away with it like the rest of Italy). A luxury spa bath. Keep an eye on the overflow. Surrounded by many cheap eats and lots of fascinating people...

This was our second stay at Grand Albergo and I doubt it will be our last. The staff are so welcoming and kind, everywhere is very clean, rooms are spacious, beds large and comfortable and there is all you need for a comfortable stay. Breakfast was even better than last year, although I would give Americano coffee a miss and...

This is what all others hotels want to be. It actually has a small(ish) room so perfectly designed that it is highly desirable. The location is perfect, the building beautiful, v. quiet, nice breakfast, and such high level, pros at the front desk. If you can, stay there.
