Arguably the best hotel in town, it offers also dinner to non guests in two halls within its historic premises, and outside looking at the beautiful sea landscape. Service Is a plus with as many waiters as tables . Not many specialties to choose from, but the quality is very high , and so the price.

We were on a family trip to Sicily and booked 3 rooms. From the moment we arrived until our departure, we had nothing but wonderful experiences. The staff was wonderful, and the breakfast was amazing with lots of choices and beautiful outdoor dining. We were told the hotel was closing for renovations, and we hope is that it maintains its charm.

We stayed at Villa Igiea for Easter. Elevators were out of order and never got fixed durich our stay.... When the scirocco started, some of the sea-facing guest had to change rooms as parts of the ceiling started crackling and windows could not get closed anymore. Well, you still can experience good and friendly service and can imagine the grand old days of this place, which badly needs serious renovation....

Stay at The Villa Igiea, incredible is an understatement... really! Staying here felt more like a privilege then just another resort stay, and being invited into its history... between Italy and Sicily. I still can't believe how well preserved and maintained this seaside luxury resort has been kept up. I booked my stay because I wanted a true Sicilian experience and The Villa Igiea delivered it spot on. I planned seven nights in Sicily, my first three nights here, arrival was warm, courteous and welcoming... I was upgraded to an ocean view suite that was large, comfortable, cozy, high ceilings, large windows that opened and working shutters, killer views of boats, working harbor, ocean, grounds and amazing sunsets! Let me be clear about something, The Villa Igiea embodies old world luxury inside and out, very much reminds me of the Reids Palace on the island of Madeira, but in Sicilian sophistication and style. If your hotel preference is shinny, bright and new, then this resort will be too sophisticated with its old world elegance for you... Enough said I found the resorts staff to give five star service, every meal delicious, ingredients fresh and ingeniously prepared, daytime poolside relaxing, evening strolls romantic [even solo] decor befitting the history and location excellent for adventures off property. I would, and have, not only recommended The Villa Igiea but Sicily also, making it a perfect island and historical amazing vacation destination, add it to your list! Here are just a few of my treasured memories and photo's. Enjoy every adventure ahead of you and the diversity our planet offers

This hotel is about to close for renovations. Why our tour company “Essence of Sicily” booked us in to this run-down place (which still charges high rates) is beyond my understanding. It is far from reassuring to know that you are staying at a place that is so dilapidated that it is about to be closed for a complete overhaul. Our room was terrible. The carpet was dirty, there was no safety bath mat (shower not freestanding but in the bath) and only one chair in the room What was to have been a sea view turned out to be a glimpse of water if you stood close to the window. We found the staff particularly rude. For example, at breakfast we took a seat at a table and were rudely shooed away by a waiter saying that this table was reserved. There was no reservation sign on the table. There were stray cats everywhere around the breakfast area. We ate there one night and they provided a different wine from that which we ordered. We checked what the cost of this new wine would be and while they assured us that it would be the same as the one we ordered originally they charged us more and we had to argue it out. This hotel is quite isolated from the city.
