We stayed here with a tour group, arriving a day early for a total of 4 nights. At first glance it is a faded gem, but once past that, it actually still has charm. The room was clean, and everything worked, including wifi, which is good for a week. In fact, we stayed at another AMT hotel in Siracusa, and...

We agree with the other comments on this site regarding the hotel being a little faded and the carpets in the corridors, do need some attention. However, we really enjoyed our stay and our room was large and very clean. The bed linen and towels were pristine. The reception staff were also very helpful and in particular Dominique and Antonio....

So tired! Such a great building but now worn and tatty. Such a shame as this could be fantastic is there was a bit of cash thrown at it. Very expensive car parking (off site). Our room was huge and once again would have been great with a bit of TLC. The only hotel not to put anything special on...

This is a glorious old hotel with a real rabbit warren of rooms - you have to walk and walk to get to your room - and a red carpeted staircase and a huge splendid dining room with chandeliers. The staff are a bit olde worlde too - lots of courtesy and old world charm. Apparently Wagner stayed here though...

Pros: Lovely staff. They cannot do enough for you. Great location - everything within walking distance Nice marble bathroom with good amenities and towels. The lifts are tiny in relation to the size of the hotel. The stairs, in contrast , are very wide. Best to use them. Comfy bed and pillows. Cons: Our room was at the back of...

I booked seven nights at the Grand Hotel et Des Palmes before I read all of the reviews. Our trip was a "girlfriend's getaway" and I was very concerned that I had made a major mistake - that it would be dirty and that the walls would be crumbling around us. Imagine my relief when the hotel exceeded our expectations....

We stayed here 4 nights. Once upon a time this must have been a truly great hotel. I cannot fault the location, the general level of service, the staff, or the very decent breakfast, but the entire hotel is just a bit dingy. It's like a great lady who has fallen on hard times - her clothes are a bit...

Loved this hotel which offers good service.Delightful dining room and variety of food.Centrally located and within easy reach of many attractions.Hotel has an interesting history. Not a modern hotel and one of the elevators rattles and on the 4th floor the carpets are very old.The 5th floor is better.Reception staff are accommodating and pleasant. Many good restaurants in vicinity and short...

Beautiful old Sicilian hotel. Breakfast amazing. Great location. Will cost 50 Euros for taxi from airport/about 7 Euros for bus. Bus arrives at train stn 2 km from hotel just walk straight down main road in front for hotel or maybe catch bus or taxi from there. Easy to find restaurants nearby. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly.

This building is really impressive and located in the heart of Palermo. Breakfast is served in a beautiful secesion ball room. But that would be all about good sides of this place. Building is literally a ruins, no access to the balcony for a safety reasons, old dirty and smelly carpet in the room and even more dirty (!!!) on...
