I found Butera 28 in my Frommer's travel guidebook and was immediately interested. Once we decided this was the place for us I contacted Nicoletta who is an excellent communicator and always replied promptly to my emails. She was very accommodating upon our arrival as was Deborah, her lovely assistant. We also decided to take the Cooking with The Duchess... More

Butera 28 is a quiet haven away from the noise and the grime of Palermo. Steeping through the huge door is a bit of a time slip. The rooms are all different in size but all decorated with antiques and stylish pieces from the past. Nicoletta Polo and her staff make sure that you are comfortable and feel welcome. We... More

We were a party of 7 females hosted by the Duke and Duchess in a variety of appartments, all with good bathroom and kitchen facitilies with the basics for breakfast provided. The sleeping rooms all had views and as you would expect of a 17th Century building, a number of period arhitectural features, furniture and of course comfortable beds. The... More

This quaint apartment tucked into the heart of Sicilian life is the only way to see this city,, easy walk to anywhere this city has too offer, the street food , restaurants ,and most attractions, if thats not good enough the owner / hostess is the best example of Sicilian friendliness. Although we didn't try a good example of Sicilian cooking,... More

We loved staying in Butera 28 for our three nights in Palermo. Nicoletta is an impressively energetic and gracious hostess who genuinely wanted us to enjoy every aspect of our stay. She helped us find gluten-free options for my husband, invited us for a tour of the historic rooms of the palazzo, and generally made us feel very comfortable. The... More

Wonderfully positioned; spacious accommodation and beautiful run by the welcoming and intellectually intersting couple Nicoletta and her husband the Duke and Dutchess. Hospitable and welcoming Butera 28 is a jewel of Palermo and sensibly priced. Do visit and you will never look back.

The Duke & The Duchess are the most relatable gorgeous hosts who will go above & beyond making your experience with them memorable. They are well versed in many languages & cultures, totally familiar with the geography & the activities, & very willing to share their knowledge. With respect, you have but to ask. An old family palazzo with it's... More

My wife and I stayed at Butera 28 in July of 2015, along with my brother in law, his wife, and their 4 children. It was a fantastic experience all round. You can tell that the place was built to house royalty. Although (like Palermo) it's golden age was some time ago, the quality is still there wherever you look.... More

I had the most wonderful time at Butera 28! I found the location absolutely perfect, as it's right on the seafront which gives it an otherworldly quality, and yet it is also just minutes away from all the sites you could want to see. I especially love the very grand doors and Nicoletta is an extremely thoughtful and superb hostess.... More
