Seeing the final draft of Giuseppe Tomasi di Lampedusa's masterpiece Il Gattopardo (The Leopard) would have been all it needed to give this magnificent palazzo a top rating. Add to that the lovely apartment with stunning ocean views, attentive and friendly staff, a chance to dine with one of Sicily's most celebrated chefs (the gorgeous, vivacious and fascinating Duchess of... We had a wonderful 2 weeks stay (apt. 13). Nicoletta was extremely helpful for local knowledge and in arranging hire cars / taxis. Via Butera is ideally placed for visiting the markets (splendid flea market in nearby Piazza Marina on Sunday mornings) as well as the many other wonderful sites Palermo offers. The oratorios of Giacomo Serpotta – particularly S... More

What a privilege! To be in the home of such history and culture, and all at an affordable sum...what more could one want in Palermo? There are many room options and rates... Opt for a room of timeless elegance complete with chandeliers, tiled floors and priceless antiques (all very easy on the pocket) or stay in more humble surrounds. Either... More

We loved our stay at Butera 28, very comfortable accommodation with all that you need, including a washing machine and detergent. Breakfast provisions were also provided. The location is excellent with great restaurants on your doorstep and also a free bus ( at the end of the street) which goes around the historic centre (which is handy when you need... More

When my husband and I were planning our wedding here in Palermo, we needed to find rooms for friends and family alike. We were in the process of looking when a girlfriend of mine in Los Angeles told me that she had found the perfect place; a beautiful and historic Palazzo, just around the corner from us. This is how... More

Loved the apartment we had- entry foyer, dinning area, small kitchen w/ clothes washing machine, separate bedroom. The building itself is very interesting and rooms/apartments have wifi. The first full day there we used the commercial hop on/off but found there is a central city free navette that can be used as hop on/off to tour the city. This is... More

This is an apartment in a Palazzo near the port. The apartment had everything we could need but the added bonus was the guidance of Nicoletta. We didn't feel like tourists, we felt we had been visiting a friend. At one point we needed help - and urgently. Her stunt driivng would not have shamed James Bond.

The setting and apartments are charming and well thought out. Not central, but close to a picturesque piazza with several restaurants serving dinner. Little service, as in my view, not a "traditional" hotel.

These are self-catering apartments in the Palazzo Lanza-Tomassi, so are very spacious, quite old-world in nature, and generally well equipped. We had an apartment on the second floor, reached by a cranky ancient lift plus a flight of stairs. Limited views but light and airy. It was on two floors, with a good sized kitchen and lounge downstairs, and a... More
