Located in walking distance between the Messina Railway Station and the Cathedral, Hotel Sant'Elia is a good choice. Modern, comfortable bedroom and bath. Good breakfast buffet. Friendly, helpful staff.

Messina is a funny old place, it's basically somewhere you pass through to get a boat. But st elia was a lovely hotel and a real haven for the one night we were there. Friendly and unfussy staff, and a great location for the port and the main square, plus felt very safe.

We were on a round trip in Sicily and prebooked the hotel for one night. The room was big, with nice bathroom, airconditioning. The service was friendly, the breakfast exceeded my expectations. It is close to the city center. It has its own parking place on the street.

My husband and I attended a concert and we booked this hotel. This is NOT a 3 star hotel! No toilet paper, no hair dryer, no air conditioning and the room smells as if a smoker had ben there before. Terrible experience can't wait to leave.

It is a cozy hotel situated near the central station in a very accessible part of the city. Rooms (not very spacious) had been cleaned every day. Breakfast - typically Italian - consisted of cold cuts and bread.

En route to the eolian islands we decided to stay for a night in Messina and this hotel was recommended by locals.. Probably they also have decent rooms but ours (#12) was a real horror.. Smelly, humid, dirty shower with a curtain falling apart, the colour on the walls (see pics) scrambling because of humidity, noisy aircon, and as usual...

We had an unplanned stay over in Messina as our hydrofoil to Stromboli had to turn back due to stormy weather, we found Sant'Elia on trip advisor and it was reasonably priced and adequate for an over night stay. Room was clean and fairly comfortable, air con worked well. We didn't have breakfast as left really early to get the...

This hotel had the best bed and pillows of any hotel we had stayed in in Italy! We slept very well! Breakfast was nothing special, in fact, we did not eat much at all (because of the lack of food). Internet only works in the lobby and the elevator broke down EVERYDAY (normally not a big deal, but the only...

The room was large with a high ceiling and polished floors. Looked like it had just been renovated. A little bit cool for January but would have been ideal in warmer weather. There was an air conditioner which was tricky to manage, but after we spoke to the front desk we had no further problem. Maybe some kind of eco...
