Visited with as part of a VJV tour. First visit fairly good, second visit very good - depends on your room which should be a newer one. Service was good on the first visit, excellent on the second: less crowded that time.

My ratings based on visit no. 2

Room 226 was large with a beautiful Baroque ceiling - had to take pictures. The room had wood floors, modern furnishings, great lighting, and a large bath. The water in the shower varied widely in temperature. We had 2 small balconies, but the view was not wonderful, just the str

Stayed for one night on VJV tour. 1st floor room was fine - a reasonable size if a bit soulless. Accessed via tunnel under the adjacent street. Lift very slow and quite a squeeze so faster to walk if you can Good breakfast. Central location but very quiet. Surrounding streets a l

I was impressed by the exterior and then I got to my room. It was the size of a closet. The key didn’t work. The shower leaked, the internet was down and to top it off a alarm went off at 6 am and the management could only manage to turn it off after two hours. At 130 Euro a n

What is the food and service like in the hotel's restaurant?
The buffet breakfast was part of a package tour I was on. It was reasonable but not outstanding. The reason I like this hotel is I left something important behind and didn't realise it for a couple of days later. When we returned to Catania I called in on the off-chance they might have it and to my good fortune the cleaning staff had picked it up and it was in safekeeping for me.

hi we are in a hire car so will need to park, is there car parking available?
The hotel has limited parking on the premises so you can reserve this in advance. I generally do this but sometimes it is fully booked and I have to fend for myself on the side streets. I have always managed but I suggest you reserve directly with the hotel if you are worried.

Approximately how much is a taxi from the Airport to the Il Principe Hotel ?
We had booked a van for 8 pax and it cost us €40. Going back it was only 3 of us but I cannot remember the price. We used to contact Mr Salvo Distefano - ( I have his email address but could not post it here). You can ask him for a quote by email. He was very helpful and spoke good English too.

What is sky package or sky channels? Will I be able to watch American TV?
Sky channels are UK subscriptionay channels, interesting enough if you are at home, but rather spend your time enjoying Catania and the rest of Sicily. We did not turn on the TV at all I will have to say. I doubt you will find any US TV in Catania, but I can't say with any authority. Kind regards.
