We were not expecting too much of Catania, given its bad reputation elsewhere in Sicily. But Giovanni and Patricia and their wonderful house quickly changed that and made this one of the high spots of our two weeks in Sicily. Their renovated house, in a very personal and rather bohemian style, is right in the centre of the old city,...

First, our hosts, Giovanni & Patricia, could not have been more welcoming. They made us feel completely at home, recommending nearby restaurants and groceries. Our apartment was comfortable - and the decor was absolutely fabulous! Our host obviously have a great "eye". Everything was old - practical - functional and beautiful. If you want to have a memorable and truly...

One of the best place I have ever stayed. We spent the first night in the apartment Odissea at the last floor designed to remind the boat with the bed under the celling with the view on the castle. This is the biggest apartment which would suit for the families. We after moved to a smaller apartment on the first...

iovanni and Patricia created a fairylike oasis in the center of Catania. The styling (of apartment ánd street) reminded us of a storybook. It's romantic and comfortable. There are guidebooks and ingenious artworks, a good bed, a cosy living, two balconies and a well equipped kitchen. On the (shared) roof terrace herbs and peppers grow abundantly. The famous fishmarket is...

Came across this place by accident. We should have more such accidents !! As it is a bit difficult to find, Giovanni was waiting for us outside and directed us to safe parking. The flat was charming and quaint. He and Patricia were terrific hosts. We wanted to stay one more night, but they had no vacancies. Highly recommended and...

Giovanni and Patricia are wonderful people so helpful and kind. To stay here is worth travelling to Catania just for the experience. The double bed in the apartment has their Grandmothers lace bedspread on the bed. Double French doors from the bedroom to a little balcony with jasmine creeper the perfume is wonderful. The courtyard upstairs has herbs and peppers...

Spoiler alert: this is going to be a rave review. I simply loved every single thing about this place. You could say that our hosts, Giovanni and Patricia, have created a home that is microcosm of the old city itself but that is far too dull and literary... I forget which great architect remarked that a house is a sculpture...

This apartment is perfect! It is located very close to everything you would want to see in catania. The hosts, as described in other posts, go above and beyond. They have maps ready with their recommendations, all were spot on! Parking in Catania can be frightening but we found a space without a problem. Giovanni kindly lent us a crook...

This is a great base for a visit to Catania. Giovanni and Patricia really look after you and gave us some great tips for places to eat etc. The apartment is beautifully and thoughtfully done. The location is great - close to a fantastic market.
