Just coming to the end of a break with friends and cannot speak highly enough of this hotel. It’s immaculately clean and the rooms are serviced every day. The rooms are big and the beds are enormous. The shower is great and toiletries are provided. Every member of staff we have met have been really friendly, polite, helpful and very efficient. The rooms don’t have kettles in them and you have to pay for water but that’s not the end of the world. We were bed and breakfast and the breakfast is lovely. Continental but also scrambled and boiled eggs, bacon and toast and i’m advised that the coffee is delicious. The hotel is situated about a 10/15 minute away from the town which is a beautiful street with loads of bars and restaurants and we would recommend you wander down the small back streets and try those restaurants out. We would especially recommend Anticas Licanzias.…
Staff is very friendly and extremely helpfull. Rooms are big and clean. Nice big bed, good desk. Only bathroom is small and the shower a bit outdated. With a hairdryer that s very old. Breakfast was very limited. A lot if sweet, not that much salty food. All basics are there, but that s it. Also coffee out of paper cups in the morning is not so nice. We didn t visit the wellness. Location is good, close to the center and bus stops. The area is very safe.( not sure what some people mean with rough.. it s mediterranean) we walked after dark, and never felt unsafe. Because of the vicinity if the trainstation, better take a room on the other side, ours was very quiet. The staff makes your stay great.
We arrived here on Saturday for 3 nights. We took a taxi here which took 10 minutes and cost €20. You can get the local bus number 1 or 10 for a few euros. The staff here are lovely Claudia was really helpful and recommended nice places to eat and drink with a local map. We hired a car for €49 for the day and went to some fantastic beaches, which are deserted to cold to sun bath though at the moment. The outdoor pool is seasonal so does not open till June. The gym is free but the indoor pool and spa is €20 per day for 1.5 hours and you need to book currently. Fav beer has been Ichunsa ar €3.50/4 and Aperol Spritz around €6/7 main course meals around €15. Pizza around €10 I’ve loved it here 3 days has been enough to see most things. Would definitely recommend as a base to sightsee.…
Hotel in great location, no tea/coffee facilities in room, boss at breakfast scary, asked to borrow someone’s salt and he stomped off and got them another one, today tried to open milk, he took it off me as if I was doing something wrong, he is scary not what you want when you are trying to relax, we booked hotel as they had outside pool with loungers but area shut and really rough not what we paid for. Very disappointed with hotel, toilet paper cheapest of,cheap, no comfort at all, could have gone to a cheap b@b and got better
I always like to start with the positives. The staff are fantastic, so friendly and helpful. Claudia on reception was excellent her English was spot on and she always greeted us with a friendly smile. Nothing was to much trouble for her. The rooms are clean and had all we needed but very much like a premier inn. The breakfast had good variety and tasted great. The negatives. Unfortunately we asked for a room with a nice view and that consisted of the railway track and near by construction site. We stayed tues-sat and up until Thursday the trains were no problem but come Thursday evening they were more frequent with Friday being the worse. It’s not really the trains it’s the stupidly loud train announcements that went from 7am to 11pm. Who needs an alarm any way. The pool was empty with no seating and certainly didn’t look like any thing in the photos The spa was freezing with only the pool and the sauna working. You were allocated one towel and the rest locked away so when you used it to get in and out of the pool it was soaking so you had no dry towel for when you got out. The desk is quite a distance from the spa with no staff coming back and forth to ask for a new one. The relaxation room was sparse and cold with all the noise of the pool to distract you. It’s really not worth the €20 to go in. The restaurant is very limited so we didn’t try it. The hotel is near the main centre of Olbia but the area around it is very rough looking and we felt a bit uneasy in the evenings. There is a lot of abandoned buildings and we sure stood out. There is very little to do in Olbia and taxis cost a fortune.…
We spent a couple of days at Mercure Olbia. The neighbourhood didn't look attractive, but it wasn't bad anyway. The hotel seems close to the local attractions (walking distance), but we used a car (on-site parking was available). We liked the restaurant at the pool, but we usually dined out at restaurants on Corso Umberto I street. Olbia was our base for exploring beaches of Pittulongu, Porto Cervo, Palau.
We have been at many Mercure hotels in several countries. As always we were very comfortable. It is very nice to have two pillows per person. Although usually there is a kettle in the room, we did not have it this time.
There was no taxi at the Olbia airport when we arrived late night. Hotel has no transfer service but tried to help by calling for a taxi (none were available though). We were lucky enough to catch a group taxi ride after one hour. Fixed rate from airport to Olbia is 25 Euro for a 6-8 minute ride. Hotel is in a small alley, outside the center of Olbia (8 minute walk, to more restaurants, shops etc). Hotel is clean but some items are worn (e.g. the carpets). Room was decent, except for the view of the dried up river/road. Beds were comfortable. Bathroom was fine but the hair dryer was extremely weak. It was super hot but the airco worked well. TV is very small. Fridge and safe were fine. The wifi was mostly terrible, hardly worked. Breakfast was good but (maybe due to Covid) a bit limited. The pasta at lunch and the drinks at the bar were all good. We liked the pool area although it could use some more shade/umbrellas. We did not use the spa, as it had limited opening times and costs 18 Euro per person per visit (!). This should be included in the (high) hotel price. Hotel arranged for our taxi to our next hotel but it took 50 minutes to get there on a Monday afternoon; not sure why but the excuse was that the roads were very busy.…
We stayed for a week in the Mercure Hotel Olbia for trials with Olbia Calcio with 5 students. we had an excellent reception, the team made our life easier, they organized our transfers to the airport, planned our meals outside the hotel hours so that everything worked according to our schedule. Always smiling, the staff was very attentive to our requests. The meals were very good and met the needs of top football players. The rooms were spacious and pleasant. In summary, we highly recommend this establishment, close to all amenities and impeccable services.
The good things first: the hotel is clean and modern. We had not reserved a room and tried to make a spontaneous booking at the reception. So we two (male) friends asked if there was still a free room. The lady then asked three times if we really only needed one room. Only when I said that we prefer separate beds, she was satisfied. Hello, 21st century! The hotel has its own spa area - is advertised online as well. But in fact, the entrance fee is 18€ per person. Not cheap but okay, if what is promised online is kept: One pool, two saunas, two steam baths. Because of Corona, however, there is an admission restriction and the stay is limited to two hours. So far so good. The Corona savings package has probably also included other things. The temperature in the whole spa is cool, the pool is not really heated and the steam baths are out of order. So to avoid catching a cold, people are queuing up at the two saunas, which Corona requires can only be used by two people at a time. Pure relaxation! The day before we were told that because of Corona, we will not have a breakfast buffet, but instead, we should fill out a note telling them what we would like to eat. Sounds reasonable and good. Bread and confit are already waiting at the table in the morning - at first sight promising. On the second, the Pape plates and plastic dishes catch the eye. One tries here probably to compensate for the CO2 saving of the pool or to protect the hotel personnel from attacks by angry guests with metal cutlery. The highlight was the cold 5-minute egg served in a transparent plastic dish with plastic spoons. The lady then also assured that the egg had been freshly prepared in the morning. The hotel - almost 100€ (130€ with spa) per night is simply too expensive for what it is. Especially if you have a 15-minute walk to the center of the small town of Olbia.…
