I have noticed that the majority of reviews of Cagliari Novecento are positive but my experience was not a good one. I stayed there for one night (Thursday 27th of June 2019). Although the one staff member I spoke to was friendly, the room I was allocated was awful. There was a bad smell in the room, it was extremely warm, the skylight wouldn’t close which meant that the room was full of flies and mosquitoes (I got six bites in one night) and the light in the bathroom didn’t work. The following morning I wanted to have a shower before leaving but as soon as I turned the shower on (in the dark) I noticed it was leaking and the floor was full of water. I left as soon as I could. If anyone books Cagliari Novecento remember...AVOID ROOM 26!!!
Strategically located for persons arriving by train as it's within walkable distance from the train station as well as from Piazza Jenne - an entrance point to the upper town. We had little problem with the check-in as our reservation claimed that we should enter from Largo Carlo Felice but the check-in was through Maria Angoy street. But the rest of the experience was very good. Reception staff is nice and friendly. Room was very nice - pleasant decor, comfortable bed, enough space for 2 persons, old, historic ceiling. We cannot complain. Bathroom was good as well - all was clean, good shower. Convenient shelf under the mirror (small thing but very often you have to put all your cosmetics on the washbasin). One remark: all the rooms are accesible through the steep staircase - just a small warning if you have a heavy luggage. Breakfast is not served in-house - we were given coupons to the bar down the street (but not Eno restaurant as stated in the information card in the room). Just a coffee and croissant or another small snack. Simple and average. Generally we were satisfied with the accomodation and place can be recommended.…
Enjoyable and hassle-free stay at Cagliari Novecento! Valeria and Miriam were very pleasant to talk with and were very helpful in finding us tours to go on. Location is very central, so near to everywhere worth seeing! Breakfast was good, but I'm used to having some meat, which I learned isn't a usual Italian breakfast item. haha! All great and good, but it would be even more convenient if there was a tea/coffee making facility in the room!:)
Walkable to station, shops, restaurants, museum and old town so great location. Cagliari is full of traffic so very useful to have underground parking nearby if you can reserve it. Rooms very clean and have everything you need. Free WiFi, air con/heating, TV, lovely shower, towel change, comfy bed and all good value. Basically an old converted palazzo. We had a street facing room but we heard nothing so that was fine.
This is a nice little B&B and there is a lot of atmosphere here with vaulted arches and exposed beams, but rooms on the top floor are built into the attic and so have restricted headroom (I bumped mine several times) and no windows (skylights only). Having said that, the rooms are neat and functional and very quiet, though my bed was uncomfortable. The people who run it are very friendly and helpful and the wifi signal is reasonable. Breakfast is taken at a nearby cafe and has the usual offerings of coffee, cake and croissants.
