First, the hotel is clean, quiet, very delicious food, especially on Fridays, though for northern Europeans this three-course dinner begins at the time when you otherwise start to think about going to bed, BUT when in Rome, do as the Romans do. The pool is ok, enough pool chairs. Now, when picking the room, you must be very careful. Sea view room means a room with a tiny window overlooking the sea in the distance. But you can enjoy a beautiful sunset across the roofs of other houses. If you are lucky to get the room in the upper floors. If you want sea view AND balcony, you have to specify it. However, in that case your balcony opens to the noisy street. Take it or leave it! The hotel has a wonderful service of the letterbox in the foyer, BUT these letters/postcards never arrive their destination. Sad. I sent my friends wonderful cards with beautiful stamps but after 5 months nobody has got them. The hotel is close to the sea, some 200 metres, BUT it means VERY dirty city beach, smelling of seaweed. Absolute NO-NO. To enjoy the beautiful beaches of Sardinia you must have a car and drive for hours. Across the street there is a supermarket, but its surroundings are so rubbished. The Hotel is located 100 meters from the sea, local supermarket is just around the corner as well as pizzeria and gelateria. Spacious and nicely equipped apartment, the swimming pool well maintained. Hotel a bit dated but service and the food were good. We were on a half board basis, so breakfast was continental style. Dinner was a typical Italian affair, fish, pasta, main, dessert , all well cooked with a choice. The wine list is disappointing as they were pushing bargains, however overall, a very pleasant experience, food wise. We were on the 4th floor with a sea view . Decor a bit dated and as it was near the end of the season , the pool area , pool not heated . I’d stayed in the Rina apartments, next door to the hotel, almost 14 years ago now and knew just how handy the hotel was for the beaches and it’s proximity to the old down too - a pleasant seaside walk in the evening or a short scooter ride if like me you hired a lil Piaggo. Actually with that in mind, you can make good use of the hotel’s underground parking facility as not extra charge, but i digress. You’ll see some reviews moaning about expectations of a 4 star hotel, but do keep in mind Alghero isn’t Dubai so it’s never going to be razzle dazzle. You can expect however, a very warm welcome, especially convivial staff, spotless rooms cleaned daily with a full suits of new towels, a good international mix of guests, quiet by night, and a good choice at breakfast time too if you’re not sleeping off the last nights booze and miss it. Breakfast stops at 10am. I don’t do full board. There is way to much excellent food to be had around town to be tied to one place - be sure to try Refetorrio and their sister pizza restaurant, Bella Napoli on Piazza Civica and Regina Margarita at least once. The hotel is perfectly situated next to well stocked super market, there paddle tennis opposite and a host of beach clubs, bars and restaurants on your door step. If a hire car or scooter is not your thing there’s a great bus service to beaches further afield, mugoni beach is lovely with good grill/fast food and more formal dining (you can still rock up in beach wear) options too. The hotel can also call a cab but get a price first €20 to the airport seemed expensive. So, helpful, pleasant, cheery staff with great english. Clean, airy rooms. Handy for everything. Where can I start, well first of all theres no kettle in rooms as I like my coffee, you have to get water at bar, an here there is a Tourist Tax which is not told to you until you get to hotel. Shower basin cracked in 3 corners, pics will be added. Very friendly staff.

I spent a week in this hotel with my family, the staff was very professional and welcoming, the swimming pool is big and clean, the food was excellent, the room was very clean and at night despite being in a very busy area I could not hear any external noise. I hope to come back soon!

The staff in all departments are excellent especially Jenna who went beyond excellence and made our stay so brilliant restaurant manager brilliant top class food we went half board we arrived 1 hour after dinner time and they had kept dinner for us and was no pressure on us Choice of food great even for a picky eater like me

Unbelievable clean, friendly staff, good location, director, manager, receptionist all very helpful and friendly... BUT!!! the food is poor, the system is not good ... in the morning you need to choose your dinner, three options avaible... you have no clue what will be most of the time ... if you ask the waiters are very poor on English or none ... usually the dinner is not looking good ... a piece of meat or fish with some poor side stuff... no sauces, even if you ask for it. At dinner you need to pay for any drink, even for the water ... all juice and water dispenser are loked away ... no tea no coffee!!! Awful!! The breakfast is also poor.

Seen some bad reviews about this hotel, but we couldn't fault it. Reasonably priced, basic but very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. One road back from the beach and the restaurants. Would definitely stay here again.

Myself and my husband have waited a long time to come to Sardinia. We wanted to stay in a nice hotel. We chose this hotel as it was a 4 star rating and It had its own pool attached to the hotel. We were very disappointed when we arrived. The room was supposed to be a double but it was just two single beds pushed together. The cleaning lady on our floor which the first floor was so good. The shower was made for a very small petite person, not that we were big. The shower head kept coming off. The door in the bathroom wouldn’t open fully. And as for what they called the hairdryer it barely dried my eyebrows let alone my head of hair!! Breakfast wasn’t great at all, if you’re into a continental breakfast that’s ok , but as an Irish woman I don’t fancy lots of sweet cakes at that hour. You couldn’t get even a poached egg or an omelette. The photos of the pool are very deceiving, the pool area is smaller than the photos make it out to be. I’d get to the pool most mornings before 9 am. I only had one sun-bed as that’s all I needed, but there were people occupying more sun beds than what they needed. I gave my sun-bed up on one occasion to an elderly lady as she had none as a lot of the beds were taken up with TOWELS for hours and no people. One morning I decided to have a lie in so didn’t make it to the pool until 10am and again all the beds were taken up by towels. I said it to the pool guy but he just shrugged his shoulders at me. I ended up on the beach that I paid €5 for a sun-bed for .That evening I complained to the staff at the desk and her response was practically the same as the pool guys. I asked to speak to management her response was he’s gone home. So I approached him the next evening and his response again was practically the same. I don’t think those responses were good enough for a so called 4 star hotel. Needless to say We will not be back.…

We are truly sorry that despite our best efforts to provide you with an experience that met your needs, your stay was not an entirely positive experience for you; however, we feel that we can respond to individual reports. Regarding the structure and the room, they - although not of recent construction - are equipped with all comforts and well maintained, for any need, however, all our staff is always available; if you had wanted a more powerful hairdryer, for example, we would have provided it. Regarding breakfast, it is indeed continental but savory items are always provided to please all palates, we are sorry it was not to your liking anyway. Regarding the pool, we are also sorry if because of the attitude of some Guests you were not able to relax completely; again, let us reassure you that we have already shared your notes internally with the intention of making our Staff even more vigilant (and stricter in enforcing the current rules, which have already been amply and clearly set out regarding occupying sunbeds in the pool). In any case, the photos of our pool are not misleading but absolutely true. Hoping, however, that we will be able to see you again soon at the Rina Hotel or in another of our more than 30 facilities throughout Italy. Sincerely yours.

Recently stayed on this hotel with some friends, the staff are so friendly (especially Carmen) helped with taxis, restaurant recommendations etc. Nice and quiet, only couple of minutes to beach, 20 min walk to the beautiful old town. Would stay there agin.
