Would not recommend anyone to go to this hotel. Multiple reasons for making such a statement: - Worst bed i’ve ever experienced. Very hard and makes a lot of noise when you turn in bed. - rooms are not clean. Dust and wipes are all over the walls. Not to mention the fungus in the mini bar - staff doesn’t speak english and are never present at the reception What surprised me the most: the al faro hotel hosts party’s till deep in the night inside the hotel without informing the hotel guests. I was wide awake because of the loud music. Couldn’t find any staff during these hours. I’ve came to the hotel for comfort and a good night of sleep, but instead i’ve got the complete opposite. After this experience the first night I decided to leave the hotel right away although i’ve reserved and paid for more nights. You would expect that the al faro hotel would feel terrible about it. Unfortenately this was not the case. They kept the money and waved me goodbye. Of course they are entitled to do so, but as a dissapointed guest you hope for more. The hotel has a rate of four stars, but don’t let that fool you. They don’t even deserve a single star in my opinion.

We made reservation for two days at al faro hotel, but we could not stay more than one day. Firstly it was not so easy to find the hotel because it was far from city center. Although we reserved suite; entrance was from cafeteria's gate. Awful. Secondlyit was supposed to have wi fi at our room. Not working. I asked them to fix it, they said ok. Not solved though they informed me that everything was ok. Anyway next morning we had a breakfast, the worst one in my life. I told the people that four star hotel's breakfast could not be so poor; anwer: this is italian style breakfast. So we decided to check out one day earlier. Staff do not know english- I don't know what kind of four stat al faro hotel is.

Found the hotel thru trip advisor and were really happy with our stay. The staff were extremely helpful especially as our Italian was awful at best. Food was divine and the decor spectacular. Combinations of old world service and modern conveniences was marvellous. Free wifi in every room plus sky box for the tv made everything perfect.

On a touring trip from top to toe in Italy last year I came across the Al Faro Hotel on the waterfront in Taranto. The Al faro was clean, stylish and cool in every sense. the staff were courteous and the dining al fresco with the lights from the nearby city centre shining on the water made this the perfect place to eat. tucked away in a corner by the esturay it was quiet when the rest of the city was buzzing. well worth a visit if ever you are in this pat of Italy
