#52 of 503 B&Bs / Inns in Verona
This elegant, monumental, fifteenth century building stands on the flood plains on the right bank of the Adige River in a landscape full of historical importance only 8 km from the centre of Verona. From this dominant position there is a panoramic view of Valpolicella and the heights of the western area of Lessinia.Chiarastella and Ludovica Sagramoso Sacchetti have decided to bring back to life, their ancient Venetian villa, family home and focal point of their agricultural activity so that the atmosphere, traditions and flavours of the land and its past can be rediscovered and the historical heritage of our country can be appreciated. The harmonious colours of the drapery and upholstery in the suites, the classical interiors, the careful attention to detail even in the choice of bed linen, makes each room unique. The Villa is characterized by the warm, exclusive atmosphere of a private home. This care and attention can also be found in the rich breakfast served according to the season and the weather in the dining room or in the garden. Our villa is the ideal starting point to discover our beautiful land and to get to know the culture, the traditions and attractions of some of the most beautiful Italian cities. We are close to Verona, Mantova, Vicenza, Padua, Treviso, Venice, Ferrara and only 13 kms away from the well known Lake of Garda. Each corner of this wonderful area has churches, monuments, stately homes and museums to be discovered and of course a wine and food tradition with a particularly rich variety of specialities to enjoy.

Last week (lying at the pool at the moment of writing) we spend a great week at the villa! Very beautiful decorated villa with very helpfull staff. The location of the villa is perfect for a daytrip to (ofcourse) Verona, Venice (1hour 10 minutes by train) the Valpolicella wine region (delicious world well known wine) and lake Garda with all the pittoresk villages like Lazise. Around lake Garda you’ve got also many hike trails. The villa also got their own wines. One pinot grigio (which grow in the garden of the villa) and a red valpolicella. Both lovely wines that you can drink in the lovely garden. The rooms are also nicely decorated and big! Very clean! And with airconditioning. The breakfast is evenso well organised with daily fresh homemade local extra’s. For lunch or dinner, there are lots of options in the near surrounding, with the best pizza ever tasted at Jonathans! You have to go there! Also trattoria Guido has excellent food! Conclusion... I would reccomend this place to everybody visiting the Veneto region, and who doesn’t want to stay in the bussiness of the big city’s! (I forgot to say, the pool is great)

This is not an hotel, it is a home. The moment you enter you feel like an honoured guest. The breakfast is simply the best ever. After three relaxing nights we did not want to leave. Some great local restaurant to try in the evenings, in easy walking distance. We arrived by bicycle and cycled into Verona during our stay. A great way to see the area.

This is a dream agriturismo. The gardens , interiors, history, service - everything was even better than we could have asked for. The owners are generous with their knowledge and service and made this trip very special for us. I stayed for three nights with my sister at this wonderful place. I want to praise it but most of all keep it a secret, so it will stay unspoiled 😊

Once entered the impressive fence, our breath was taken as soon as we saw the beauty of this classical estate. We spent four nights in this wonderful family owned domain, very close to Verona. (And if you like, after a 45min drive: Lago do Garda.) We however prefer the quietness of this area and if you are looking for a unique accommodation, Villa Sagramoso is where you want to be. Chiarastella and her brother are the very friendly owners of this family property and will give their guests a more than warm welcome. After a quick tour around the mansion, we were shown to our room, located above the library. The property is decorated with all kinds of family portraits, pictures and old paintings. The owners are more than happy to tell you everything about their family history. Just like everything else in this ancient house, our room has a classical vibe and is not decorated in a contemporary way but is part of the antique spirit of the villa. A portable airconditioning is available in the room, which unfortunately makes too much noise during the night. The bathroom is spacious but could do with an upgrade, just like the big bed. Taking this into consideration, the lack of comfort did not bother us at all and was compensated by the stunning views over the family wineyards. By the way: we can definitely recommend a glass of their own Pinot Grigio! Breakfast is served in the small breakfast room as well as the big entrance hall: just take a seat wherever you like. The staff puts all effort in baking fresh bread, all sorts of homemade pies and fresh fruits. Lunch or dinner is not possible, although it was said that if you want to bring your own food, it was not a problem at all. Chiarastella loves to help you out with all kinds of nice advices for lunch and dinner in the area and is willing to make reservations, which makes your stay very convenient. We spent a wonderful time at Villa Sagramoso and will return if we are visiting the Verona area again. Grazie mille Chiarastella and team!

We spent 5 nights in Villa Sagramoso with our two children age 7 and 12. It is the most wonderful place, ideally situated close to Verona and the Lakes. The owners were wonderfully kind to us all, chatting to the children, letting them play on the villa piano and Chiarastella makes the most amazing breakfasts. Every morning we woke up to no fewer than 3 homemade cakes or pastry selections, and despite staying for 6 breakfasts we never had the same selection! Quite amazing and absolutely delicious, The room was beautiful and perfect with children, the pool is stunning as are the grounds, Everyone who worked at the villa was so kind and welcoming, letting us also use the fridge and have cold meals when the children did not feel like going out. The villa owners gave us amazing suggestions for outings, including to Mantova, the most beautiful little town, and for places to eat, The children especially loved Jonathan Pizza. We had a magical and relaxing holiday and we would absolutely love to come back. We cannot recommend Villa Sagramoso more highly.
