Last minute find (by my son) as we were traveling across country and needed somewhere to stay for the night. Great location, beautiful decor and atmosphere and very helpful greeting at reception during the booking process where I was pleasantly surprised to know of the IHG group status that the hotel belonged to and was invited to join although I was already a member which made it even a quicker process! Due to global health restrictions we decided to stay in the hotel for dinner and we were well looked after by James at the Lobby Bar who served us with his suggestion of a cheese/ham platter and then some pasta with tomato sauce and a salmon with citrus sauce and grilled vegetables for main course, washed down with some non-alcoholic cocktails from the menu and also a more alcoholic red wine also hand picked. We were left to eat and drink at our own pace but were never left hungry or thirsty and the meal ended off with a tasty tiramisu and coffee/limoncello and some more informal chat about the area etc etc.

Located just a few minutes from the Arena and shops, you can not go wrong choosing your stay at this hotel. The hotel was decorated very nice for the holiday season to include complimentary hot chocolate. The breakfast had a wide variety of food which included hot eggs and pancakes. All fresh and tasty. The rooms were clean and stylish. The Staff was very helpful with recommendations of restaurants and sites. We were very grateful for Mara, I believe, who we spoke numerous times about reservations to great restaurants, which she help make for us. We also would like to applaud James White . He is the staff that tended the bar. He was witty, charming and professional. He made some great recommendations of wine for us and our friends. Very pleasant to chat with too. His outgoing personality makes him a perfect example of a dedicated employee and a wonderful human being. We were very pleased with our stay and hope to return.

We’re big fans of indigo hotels, but I’m afraid we were not big fans of this hotel. It’s not that there was anything particular wrong with it, it’s just that it wasn’t particularly ‘indigo’! Pros: great staff, very friendly and helpful. Big shout outs to James and (sorry I didn’t get your name) the other English guy working in the bar - you were both super friendly and helpful. The bed was comfortable and our room was a good size, the location is good also. Cons: quite simply, this hotel does not look or feel like a Hotel Indigo. It is not in the least bit ‘funky’ or stylish. It looks like a fairly basic conversion or a rather traditional hotel. It also seems that the management got a great deal on lights because everywhere is so brightly lit that it has zero atmosphere. The bar is floodlit to within an inch of its life and you will need the finest Prada shades to enjoy a drink in there in the evening. So whilst the hotel is perfectly good, it is not perfectly Indigo. So if you are looking for that fun vibe that indigo hotels are known for (Milan is a perfect example) then you will be disappointed. If you are looking for hotel styling that your gran would appreciate, then stay here because the hotel staff will happily put a blanket over her knees for her,

I am very sorry that you did not find the atmosphere you wanted: it is the Indigo group that considered us "indigo" we did not make a direct choice. Every detail has been part of the transformation journey of recent years. It makes me smile that the "grandmother" may not be "funky" enough, although I know several that are much more so. Thank you for staying in our hotel. I hope to see you soon. Tina Ingaldi Hotel Manager

I stayed here as part of a tour. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk from the historic area in one direction and a 15 minute walk from the train station in the other direction.. It's a convenient location. The rooms are nice with comfortable beds. Breakfast is a buffet with juice cereal yogurt and pastries. All delicious. Be warned if you have mobility issues. From the door to the lobby are five stairs. Also about five stairs to to the breakfast room Staff speak good English and are friendly and helpful If you are tired after a day touring you can get salads, sandwiches, and a few other items at the hotel bar. I highly recommend this hotel
