We've been to Venice several times over the years, but the Hotel Orologio made this visit particularly memorable. Efficient, friendly, helpful staff, wonderful location, lovely rooms, generous breakfast, pleasant vibes throughout... what more can one ask for?

A lovely boutique hotel, perfectly situated for exploring Venice. Room minimalistic however very clean with all the necessities. It did not have a Grand Canal view, so speak to hotel if this is a priority for your stay. Staff all excellent, polite and helpful. Concierge service arrangements for airport transfers may look expensive however it is worth it for seamless travel to and from airport. Intimate little bar absolutely great for a nightcap before retiring. Breakfast was buffet style with a good selection of fresh food. Will definitely use this hotel on my return to Venice.

This is a superb hotel with brilliant staff who were very helpful to a couple of Venice newbies. The room was excellent, the hotel was well placed for exploring the city and is right on the Grand Canal. Breakfast selection was very good and there is a bar for evening drinks.

Excellent hotel. Quiet in the evening, but super central. Right on the Grand Canal, just a few steps from the Rialto Mercato stop. 5 mins to Rialto Bridge. Great restaurants nearby. Excellent service, with a reception/concierge staff that were only too happy to help. We loved our time here, and will definitely stay again when we return!

Absolutely brilliant hotel. We booked via British Airways and picked this one more or less at random from the available list. The hotel is right by the canal near to the Rialto bridge. There is a fish and fruit market nearby. At the market there is a vaporetto stop and also gondolas take you across the canal for 2 Euros. The hotel is quite small so all rooms are quickly accessed via the lift. There are canal-front rooms, but our back rooms looking into a courtyard were fine. The breakfast buffet has hot food - bacon, potatoes, scrambled eggs and peppers or pancakes - plus cheeses and cold meats, apricots and prunes. There are corn flakes and muesli packets available. The bar serves a few hot meals and sandwiches in the evenings, and restaurants are literally only 3 minutes walk away. The reception staff were very helpful with advice on local restaurants and transport.

I so wanted to love this hotel and, while there were some things to love (location, proximity to the canal, generally friendly service), I was a bit underwhelmed by the property. For starters, the hotel is a bit soulless…there really isn’t much vibe or energy. The space on the main floor is dedicated primarily to its use as a breakfast room; at other times it falls flat, not lending itself to comfortable lounging, including in the dedicated bar area. Ditto the lack of personality in the guest rooms, which are minimalist in nature but lack imagination in decor. Of note in our case, we booked a Deluxe Family suite with a lofted 2nd (and primary) bedroom, which, if you’re taller than 5’8” should be avoided. The room itself was spacious enough though the living area was totally unused during our stay: the tiny sofa was uncomfortable and there really wasn’t any other seating in the room. Speaking of uncomfortable, the beds are rock hard and duvet thin. And finally, there was an issue with the fan in the heating / cooling system making a very high pitched screeching noise any time it turned on …so we manually turned it off whenever we were in the room. One final note / comment: having stayed here over New Years I was shocked that the hotel did absolutely nothing to acknowledge the holiday. I’ve spent many a New Year’s Eve in hotels and resorts all over the world and there’s generally some acknowledgment (champagne toast at midnight? Hats and noisemakers in the room? Something?) of the occasion. Nothing here.

Lovely restaurant set right on the canal, a very short walk from the Rialto Bridge so the location couldn’t be better. 2 main water bus stops from the airport located within 5 minutes walk of the hotel. The room was fairly small which isn’t a bad thing as you couldn’t have had a much nicer, quirky room if you wanted one. It was lovely. Bed was comfortable Shower was lovely. Breakfast was great I couldn’t have wished for more

I am travelling a lot, so I have gathered lots of experience with high level hotels; I never left a recension so far, but in this case I really want to, as the service provided was excellent! This trip was a surprise for my father’s 80’s birthday. Based on my requests they arranged everything: from the birthday cake on the room, which was delicious, offering 2 bottles of processo, from arranging the dinner in a very good restaurant, even there telling about the birthday, so we received another surprise there, offering a trip at no cost to Murano including a visit to one of the glasblowery (of course there they want to sell, but this is taken for granted), recommending places to visit in Venice – and providing a VIP access to the Terazzo di Fondaco dei Tedeschi. We stayed in one of the apartments at the 3rd floor without elevator (well known about this, as informed up front); such a beautiful view on the Canale Grande. The apartment was clean and breathtaking. The breakfast was delicious, high quality of food and great choice. In a view words: this was a memorable stay. Thanks a lot!

We stayed for 3 nights in an apartment (part of the adjacent building to the hotel). Pro's: 1. Great location - right on the Grand Canal, a few minutes' walk from the Rialto bridge. Short walk from a vaporetto stop. But still relatively quiet, with little noise at night. 2. Huge apartment - 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, with own kitchen and living area, with views over the Grand Canal. Great aircon too. A great base for a family when exploring Venice. 3. Large and comfortable beds, high quality furniture and fittings. It felt italian, and luxurious. Con's: 1. Breakfast buffet itself, and the dining area, were ok rather than great. Seemed a step down in quality/luxury from the apartment. 2. Steep stairs to get to the apartments - no issue for us, but beware if you have mobility issues. 3. Shower/bath was tiny, with poor water flow and leakage issues. Overall, we highly recommend the apartments at this hotel - perfect solution for a family, and made our visit to Venice more enjoyable.

The staff was friendly, helpful and attentive, from porters to front desk staff to wait staff. When we had a flight cancellation, they were very accommodating - moving our luggage for us to the new room and offering a discount since they extra night want by choice. It's interesting decor - very dark and brooding, but beautiful and well maintained. Agree with other reviews on the location. CLOSE to the Rialto Bridge, but not too close to the constant madness.
