There has never been a better time to visit Venice. This magnificent city, usually overcrowded and sagging under the weight of a huge number of visitors, is beautifully quiet. It is easy to meander its many streets and to enjoy its attractions at leisure. And Hotel Palazzo Barbarigo is the perfect place to stay. Situated on the banks of the Grand Canal, less than ten minutes’ walk from the Rialto Bridge, the hotel is a haven of peace and tranquility. The rooms are spacious and beautifully presented. The staff are helpful with advice and making reservations. We will come again.

We stayed at the Hotel Palazzo Barbarigo in October to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary. What a memorable stay: the location is perfect (they have their own dock which means you can take a water taxi to and from the airport, and out to dinner, anytime -- no hauling your bags through the streets and steps of Venice... and the back door leads you out through an ancient oh so quiet alleyway into a square, where you can walk to any part of Venice including the Doges Palace in 20 minutes). The concierge amazing (Thank you Christopho for the great restaurant recommendation, we loved Hostaria Bacanera WOW! Thank you Valentina for EVERYTHING including helping us when my husband forgot his wallet and having it sent home for us :) Thanks Danielo for all of your help! Thanks to the sweet bartender who stayed late to pour us Prosecco at the adorable bar! Can't beat the view from the little balcony over the Canal. OH and the breakfast was amazing, especially the fresh fruit. We will be back!

Palazzo BARBARIGO is just a beautiful and charming base to explore and enjoy Venice. Staff is charming and helpful, rooms are comfortable and quiet remote from San Marco’s crowd and craziness. We stayed there almost ten years ago and it has not changed and remains a beautiful hotel. We highly recommend.

We absolutely loved our stay at Palazzo Barbargio. We stayed in room #1 on the ground level which had three windows with spectacular views of the canal. The first day we barely left our room, as we opened the windows, pulled up two chairs and a bottle of wine to enjoy watching the boats go by. A few of the gondolas ride past the windows which is very pleasant to watch. There were little to no mosquitos during our stay in September, so having the windows open wasn’t an issue. The staff were all very polite and friendly. The hotel only has 18 or so rooms, so the service is very exclusive. Upstairs they have a quiet bar and one table outside on a balcony. As the hotel has few guests, it wasn’t a problem finding the balcony to be vacant. The bartender has been there for years and you can have a delightful conversation with him if you need a nightcap. Breakfast includes pastries, cheeses and fresh fruit. All delicious. The hotel’s entrance is on the canal, so be sure to arrive by water taxi to get the full effect! However, there is also a rear exit in an alley that leads to the shops and restaurants. We left at 4:00 am for the airport and the front desk had warm pastries and cappuccinos delivered to our room prior to leaving. The service was above and beyond. We cannot wait to go back!

This is my 3rd stay at the Hotel Palazzo Barbarigo Sul Canal Grande but first in 2 years. The hotel is located on the Grand Canal but away from the crowds in a quieter area of Venice, yet still accessible to everything you would want to see (5 minute walk to the San Toma Vaperetto Stop). The hotel and rooms are very quiet. My corner room on the ground floor faced both the Grand Canal and a side canal. You could literally spend all day watching water craft, including gondolas, go right by your window. There are various room levels and I paid slightly more for this view, but would have paid even more in a hotel on the other side of the canal. The room is clean and I appreciate not being in an overwrought, gold plated rococo room, yet with decor that still looks uniquely Venetian. This is also a great hotel for honeymooners. I would only say the hotel should spend a little to replace the closets and electronic outlets, which need updating. Turndown every night was great, including the water and the chocolate on the pillows. Service in general was good, and as I've found in other Venice hotels, professionally friendly. Venice is over-run with tourists, especially in summer, so I imagine it's hard to keep a smile on your face given the onslaught of tourist demands, yet they did.
