Very convenient location close to all attractions but not too busy. Five minutes walking distance to either water bus or saint mark's square. Nice breakfast served. Room has air conditioning. Everything new and clean.

This is stop one of our two week Italian vacation. IMHO, the biggest benefit to staying at this B&B is that the host Lorenzo will meet you at the water taxi dock and bring you to the apartment. It's such a stress reliever not getting lost in unfamiliar alleys trying to find your lodging while rolling a bunch of luggage... More

Just back from weekend staying here. It really is a home from home. You come home at night winding streets ( after you do it once you remember) My second time to stay here. Lorenzo is the perfect host, knowledgeable, quiet and super honest ( there was error in quoted price , he pointed it out to me and charged... More

I can only reiterate the previous reviews on Tripadvisor. The room we had was wonderful, large and a separate large bathroom. Everything was spotless. Breakfast was freshly cooked coissants and rolls and fresh Italian coffee. Lorenzo and his mum went out of their way to make us feel at home. The e-mails and text messages before arriving were fantastic. Lorenzo... More

We have just returned from a weekend stay in Venice and had the pleasure of staying at this absolutely wonderful B&B on the recommendation of close relatives who have stayed here twice already. We were not disappointed! Lorenzo the owner was the most hospitable and kindest of persons you could possibly meet. Prior to, and from the moment of booking,... More

This was the 3rd stay for my wife and me at Ai Tagliapietra B&B. It is a B&B we have come to love because of the place itself, the location and the owner. It is a small B&B with only 3 rooms. Each room is well equipped with a comfy bed, cupboard to store clothes, TV and ensuite bathroom with... More

While everybody keeps waxing eloquent praises of this place's location, comfort and quality (and I support and concur with every praise Ai Tagliapietra has got), I would like to narrate an experience that has touched me and left me and my family with an experience of what we would classify as the high point of customer delight. Lorenzo, the owner... More

My husband and I were looking for an inexpensive place to stay two nights in Venice. This fit the bill. The breakfast is good, though leaner than the lavish hotel we left in Florence but adequate: bread, cereal, fruit. The room is plenty private so no need to feel too close to someone else as is often the case with... More

This is the ideal B&B for and visitors to Venice! First the location can't be beat, just off the touristy streets so its quiet, but close enough to all the sites that you can walk there in minutes. Second, the rooms are spacious and comfortable, with connected private bathrooms. All the comforts of home! Last but certainly not least is... More

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
