This hotel is owned by a church/ religious group. They have nuns working and running this place. Religious symbols and statues everywhere, even in rooms. If they're running a hotel for tourists they should keep the religion separate, not everyone believe in religions, plus not everyone agree or comfortable around these things, so don't put these in private rooms you...

There are hundreds of accommodations in Venice, but you wanted to come here for the price very cheap, without taking care of our rules. We do not hide to be a religious house, and OF COURSE there are religious symbols. You do not like them? If is YOUR problem, not ours. The curfew is not ridiculous, you disrespect us and...

Only 5-10 minutes' walk from Piazzale Roma, and easy to find. Very quiet location. Helpful, English-speaking staff. Ample breakfast. Rooms spotless. Plenty of hot water. The 00.00-0600 curfew isn't likely to affect many people. A really good choice for those seeking 'no frills' budget accommodation in an otherwise expensive city.

Our family of 4 spent one night before boarding a cruise ship. The location is excellent. Not too far from the Piazza Roma bus lot and the cruise port; and within walking distance from major Venice sights. It is not meant to be luxury. We had a room with 4 single beds, but we knew that when we booked the...

Looking for a place near the tran station and cruise boat piers? This is it! That's the reason we selected the Casa Caburlotto. Spartan conditions with comfortable single beds, not much space to put your clothes, bathroom was small, but adequate. At only 64USD per night...a bargain! Pleasant staff who had good, no GREAT, recommendations for restaurants and they include...

Beware -This property is over rated.-It is a religious guest house and many people are their for religious purposes. Take it for price and location only. Pros - low price, great location 2 blocks from railway/bus stations, very clean, staff very polite and pleasant. Cons - room had paint peeling ( room 106) , washroom had partly torn wall. Note...

We travel to Europe often and when in Venice we stay here. This is a nice place to lay your head for the night. It is owned and operated by Religious Sisters and so one can expect Spartan conditions From the Marco Polo airport we took an "ATVO" bus for E8, to the P.Le Roma station then walked over 2...

Really clean and nice place. I visited during my solo traveling in Italy. There is no TV either radio in the room, so hopefully you enjoy the silence or your own phone. The bathrooms were clean. Breakfast really basic.

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
