Really clean and nice place. I visited during my solo traveling in Italy. There is no TV either radio in the room, so hopefully you enjoy the silence or your own phone. The bathrooms were clean. Breakfast really basic.

I arrived on a cruise ship and left by train and so could walk to both yet rest of Venice just walked the other way Good buffet breakfast and a/c No TV,fridge or coffee in room Mattress was a bit too hard Ladies at front desk couldn't have been more pleasant Good location if you want to walk and see... If like me, you place importance on an air conditioned room of a reasonable temperature then don't stay here. Despite advertising as fully air conditioned rooms the panels are locked to 24'C. Don't even expect a room cooled to 24 though as when I was shown the master control panel my room temperature was up at 25.9'C. I experienced uncomfortable... More

No, we do not believe on what we are reading... It is impossible! You are joking! You are the only one that complained that much for the temperature in the room!!! 24 degrees is the ideal temperature in a room, if outside is 30!!! In your room there were 23, not 26 as you are lying. We really do not... More

I would probably not stay in this hotel the second time. The place and the room itself was really nice and clean, but things happened during my stay which really bothered me. For the first thing, they have a curfew from 12 am to 6am which I find ridiculous. I had to rush back to the hotel from my trip... More

We are really sorry for what happened during your stay, but you have to consider that those things rarely happen... The fire alarm could ring if a guest smoke in the room (it is forbidden) or use a particular spray, you cannot complain as our fault. Anyway it was the first time that happened this year... The trouble with the... More

I only stayed one night here as I could not stand staying another night. The beds are so incredibly uncomfortable, all I could feel were springs and were incredibly loud and i woke up with a sore back. Room very basic, nothing in there whatsoever. I got bitten all over my body from mosquitoes which kept me awake through the... More

I just laughed very much reading this review. Please read all the reviews, not only the bad ones. The most guests are happy for the service offered at Casa Caburlotto, because they know where they are! Casa Caburlotto is a religious guest house, what do you expect if not a sober atmosphere? All guests should know in advance about the... More

Hotel was nice, very close walking distance to train station and main bus stop which is very handy after a long flight no having to walk far with luggage. It is located in a nice quiet area and you can walk to all the main attractions, close to vaporetto station to go to islands. There is no TV in the... More

I have stayed here a couple times. It is easy to reach from the train station which is a plus. We loved the area Doroscuro , and avoided crowds by visiting San Marco from the bridge near the Accadamia. Arriving in Venice and avoiding a Vaporetto ride to your hotel is also desirable.

I stayed for 1 night while passing througj Venice with 5 friends. I had seen numerous good reviews and looked forward to staying here so I was disappointed. The staff were very abrupt and rude and whenever I needed anything they seemed reluctant to help. The rooms were spotless and comfortable but I cannot say the same for the manner... More

We remember you very well, you tried to kid us all of you. You booked 2 rooms for total 5 people, after your arrival you tried to bring in another girl without informing us (that is also forbidden by a law in Italy, just to inform you). Do you think that was a good attitude from you? Obviously we do... More

As other reviewers have mentioned, this is more of a guest house than a hotel and the rooms and furnishings are very simple. That said, it is a peaceful place in a quiet location, with its own garden. It is close to Piazzale Roma, which is the nearest that cars and buses can get to the city of Venice and... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
