Two friends and I stayed for five nights. Our family room was huge and very well appointed. The bathroom was luxurious and had every amenity required. All the staff we had the pleasure of speaking to were helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was excellent from continental to delicious scrambled eggs. Even the toaster behaved better than... More

I stayed at the San Sebastiano Garden Hotel alone in September while visiting Venice for the first time. I would recommend it to anyone who is thinking about holidaying in Venice and these are the reasons I have given it five stars: * Staff are polite, friendly and speak perfect English. You can check out when you want to and... More

This little hotel boasts with rustic charm and beautiful garden space. It is clean, comfortable and well maintained and the staff were friendly and accommodating offering information on places to eat, see etc... For breakfast you can enjoy great choices from cooked options & continental choices, they even have a chocolate fountain with selection of fruits. The 1st time travelling... More

Hotel staff were very friendly and allowed us to leave our bags in reception for free after we checked out. Rooms were clean and ours had a nice view of the garden. Breakfast was nice, with the basics as well as cooked options, pancakes, and even a chocolate fountain (!). Garden is very quiet and pretty and ideal if you... More

Absolutely brilliant hotel with free wifi available all over the hotel, including the garden area . The staff are excellent and extremely friendly. The breakfast has something for everyone, hot & cold. The rooms are cleaned everyday as well as receiving clean towels .The rooms are quite big with a reasonably priced mini bar , although slightly overpriced snacks .

Stayed here for a week 10th-17th August 2016, The Staff couldn't do enough for us, they were very helpful and informative. The room was comfortable and peaceful also very clean. The breakfast had a good choice. The location was a 10min walk from the bus station. 20min walk to St Marc's Sq, and shopping area. Local restaurants provided nice options... More

Very friendly and helpful staff. Located in a very ideal area. Not far from grocery store, Zatterre alilaguna stop. Room was small but clean. Mattress could be better. But over all enjoyed my stay for a couple nights.

At almost 150€ on a Monday night, I was extremely shocked when we walked into our room. First of all, the location of this hotel isn't ideal. It is about 20 minutes from the train station and 15 minutes from the bus stop. You have to cross a few bridges, and go into a pretty obscure, nondescript area in order... More

Nice Hotel in a quiet area of Venice - and still close to everything. The booking agency had messed up so we got the wrong room to begin with, but (I don't remember her name - a nice blonde woman) staff at reception was so nice to help out and upgrade us when they found out. Breakfast is good with... More

This lovely hotel is in a quieter area of Dorsoduro. We walked EVERYWHERE from here and loved the neighborhood feel. The hotel has a lovely garden and a great breakfast. Special thanks to Fabio who was delightful, charming and basically told us where to go! Our room faced the garden, and could use a little freshening up, but it was... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
