We stayed at this hotel with friends for a weekend break. The water taxi dropped us off only a few hundred yards from the hotel. On arrival the young man on reception was very helpful, he gave us a map and directions to some interesting places and sights. The hotel is only a short walk from San Marko square. Our... More

The hotel might have gotten a 4/5 except for the horrible wifi. The wifi was a perpetual fight and frequently cut out completely, meaning that in order to access e-mail for work I had to do it all sitting in the lobby, and even some parts of the lobby had poor reception. The shower head was crusted in grime to... More

Very convenient location. At 5 minute walk from Piazza San Marco, you will pass through several shophouses. It is also very convenient for walking to Accademia. Best is when returning to Sta Lucia train station via water taxi, you can actually stay at the lobby while waiting for the cab. Service staff is very helpful too.

The staff was extremely accommodating to our needs eg reheating food in their kitchen after hours, extra plates and utensils to take to room. The room was extremely comfortable and well appointed. Temp very comfortable for winter months. Convenient location.

We stayed here for 2 days recently and always glad to come back to it after walking around in venice. The hotel itself is tucked in a quiet alley, about 30 metres from where the water taxi dropped us and also very near the GIGLIO station for vaporetto. The reception opened till late and the check in was smooth. Our... More

Stayed here for a short break with young family. Hotel is superb, can't really fault it. All of the staff were lovely and nothing was too much bother. Great location and an ideal base for exploring a gorgeous city. Would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful little hotel. We booked this due to the many good reviews and we have to agree with these excellent ratings. We had a family room for the four of us, two adults and two teens. This was basically two rooms connected, each with a full bathroom. The decoration is very elegant, oldish style. Breakfast was good and the A/C... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
