Our second stay at this well located hotel, its position cannot be faulted, near all major sites in a very quiet position. The hotel is quite modest but has a lift ,internal courtyard where breakfast can be taken, weather permitting.Nice pleasant staff and the hotel is one we would use again.

Lovely rooms, walking distance to most attractions and many restaurants. Block out curtains are great if you're needing a post flight nap. Spa bath an added extra and breakfast was reasonable. Extra charge for child in room which was a surprise but it wasn't much anyway.

1st time to Venice and what a great choice for a hotel. Close to a lot of attractions and restaurants. Staff are really friendly and the room was clean and tidy. Breakfast every morning was nice to. If I return to Venice this would be the hotel I would return to. Thank you Ca' Fortuny!

The CaFortuny is in an excellent location as soon as you walk out the door you are captivated by the magic of Venice. San Marco is only 10 minutes walk away and there are restaurants galore nearby. The staff are very friendly, welcoming and helpful. The breakfast is excellent. The room we stayed needs a few minor repairs and some... More

Lovely hotel near to St. marks, Rialto And the wooden bridge. Nice size rooms with comfortable beds. In need of some tlc marks on the walls chipped paint on the headboard and missing (for quite some time by the look of it) shower screen. A good selection at breakfast and you could breakfast out doors in the courtyard. Which would... More

Located on a calm street in the heart of the city. The staff was helpful, above and beyond the usual, and the room was quite to our liking. You have to love golden beds and thick drapes with tassles when you're in Venice! If returning to Venice I'd definitly consider staying here again.

I was leaving on a cruise for Greek Islands from Venice, i chose this hotel for my first night. Hotels in Venice are expensive, but this one was not too bad. Very small hotel, very quiet street. It was a large room with old, but well maintained furniture. I would not hesitate to go back .

Hotel very well located between the District of Rialto and place St Marc in a quiet street. Breakfast is a rich buffet of Italian pastries, Italian pastries, cold meats, cheese, yoghurt, eggs, fruit, beverages hot and cold of sorts. Friendly staff. BUT: I had a really old mattras. The fridge didn't work. Caps were missing from the jacuzzi holes We... More

When I booked this holiday last July through a low cost website, this was the hotel that came with my choice of flights. We were not disappointed. The hotel we felt is centrally placed for everything. Within 5-10 minutes from San Marco Sq, Rialto Bridge, Ponte Alla Academia. We were pleased with our room on the 1st floor, it was... More

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
