I stayed here with my husband for only one night. We received our directions from the train station and they couldn't of been easier. We were greeted with welcome arms and were relieved to find such friendly and lovely people to greet us. Roberto and Piero were very welcoming and gave us a key to our room, which was ready...

Excellent location, easy to find, with a good breakfast - room was small but had AC, which was nice, and shared the bathroom but it was never a problem. Good value for Venice.

I stayed here as part of a tour group but I arrived in Venice early to get a feel for Italy. I found this hotel perfectly charming. I was on the top floor but had no problems carrying my luggage up to the top floor (since I packed lightly...sadly most Americans dont). My room was large with its own private...

Excellent location near the Rialto Mercado. Service was great. The owners and concierges spoke English well. Nice (free) breakfast in the mornings. Highly reccommended!

Three years ago I traveled to Venice and by because of the reviews on Tripadvisor I chose to stay at Pensione Guertto. I wasn't disappointed! It was everything I expected and the location is second to none! This year we booked a cruise that departed from Venice and decided to spend a day sightseeing prior to sailing. Our hotel choice,...

Stayed here 3 nights, clean, well cared for with great a/c in the room. Large room with own bath. Pleasant staff and helpful as well. If we ever come back we know where to go. Had a triple room. Stairs only to Lobby, not sure about other floors and wi-fi only available on Lobby floor. Still an excellent value.

I stayed in Pensione Guerrato for three nights and loved it. It has an appealing interior and felt quite authentic. I was a bit concerned beforehand about the shared bathroom, but it turned out to be just fine. In fact, I rather liked walking through the quaint interior of the building to get to the bathroom. One thing to bear...

Stayed here for four nights in a first floor room. Great air-conditioner in the room, friendly staff. Everything was clean and our room was spacious. The room furnishings were fine, nothing remarkable, very basic - more than fair deal given the price for a room in Venice. The breakfast was also simple: cornetti, coffee and cereals. The location is excellent,...

Clean, friendly, helpful staff, great location - it's not the Ritz, but at the price, good value for Venice. Great market close by, and good breakfast. Would stay again.

The location is perfect near the Rialto Market and Bridge. The staff is very friendly and helpful with helping English speaking customers. Our room and bathroom was large. The breakfast is very nice. I suggested this hotel to my parents on their visit a year after ours and they were as happy as we were. Make sure to stop into...

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
