We recently stayed in this B&B during our visit in Venice. We found it very easy to find following Claudetes (the host) instructions. Our room was large, clean and the hospitality was very friendly. Our room shared a bathroom with one other room, it was always spotless and we never had to wait for it, in fact I never saw...

Fantastic place. Clean, tidy, with everything you could need. There are 3 rooms available, one with its own bathroom, the other two share a bathroom. Everything is very clean and tidy. Claudette, the owner was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish, via email and in-person. We shared a bathroom, and never had any problems using it when...

This B&B is very centrally located- just minutes to Rialto Bridge or St. Mark's Square. The price was very reasonable and we felt very welcomed. The room we stayed in was a nice size and very clean with two windows overlooking the street below. Breakfast was served in our room every morning and was plentiful. We shared a bathroom with...

great location. Claudete speaks great English and is very helpful. Just print the map from her website as there are several streets with the same name in Venice (hard too believe I know) but we learnt the hard way by wandering around the wrong one trying to find a street number that didn't exist

We chose this place based on the reviews here and have to agree with what they said. Superb location in between Saint Marks and Rialto, ideal for exploring the heart of venice. The b&b has no communal area as the owners have an office in another b&b about 5 mins away. This means that if there is a problem then...

We found this B&B in our Frommer's guidebook. As Pauline says the rooms are simple and functional. The host was not around much except in the morning to bring breakfast to our room but she was very nice and helped us out by giving us a map and restaurant/sightseeing recommendations. Breakfast was basic breads and yogurt but good and plentiful....

Wasn't sure about we were getting because it is just called Room in Venice. When I looked it up on Trip Advisor I was a little more relieved. When I got there I was very happy. It was clean and comfortable. The location is great. 5 minutes in each direction is the Rialto and St Marks. Shopping is nearby as...

This b & b is in the perfect location. We tended to go out early in the morning and experience Venice before the mad rush. By getting up early we watched Venice wake up and come alive. Even went to Mass at St. Mark's on a Sunday at 7 am (little clue, go in by the lefthand side door) and...

We stayed 5 nights recently and were very happy with everything. The breakfast was ample, the room huge, our bathroom was massive and clean too. Be aware of two things: the Venetians in the alley where the window looks out start work very early and there's one bloke who whistles a horrible tune. Other than that, the place is dead...

We have just returned from a 2 night stay at 'Room in Venice' and for the money we paid it was excellent. Claudette made us feel extremely welcome. We stayed in a room with a shared bathroom which wasn't a problem at all. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and our room was a good size and again very clean. Breakfast...

Staying in San Marco

Neighborhood Profile
San Marco
The most famous sestiere (district) in Venice has one of the world's most famous squares, St. Mark's (Piazza San Marco). Anchored on one end by the basilica, clustered around it are restaurants, museums, shops, orchestras playing in the square, pigeons, the grand pink Doge’s Palace (Palazzo Ducale), the soaring campanile bell tower, an astrological clock tower, plus gorgeous cafes and restaurants like Florian and Quadri. Piazza San Marco is beloved by Venetians themselves. They book a table anytime, which offers a buffer from the fray. This grand outdoor drawing room attracts Venetians for a stroll too, especially late in the afternoon when the hoards of daytrippers thin out. It's simply a grand place to meet.
