Breakfast is outstanding and service flawless . The cleaners did a super job daily and we were toasted by the heat ! Many thanks to wonderful staff flawless efficient check in and check out . We love Bauer .
We visited as a couple to celebrate our Anniversary and Birthday in the romantic city of Venice and our first encounter with Italy. We booked through Sarah Smith our holiday Travel Counsellor. Arriving my private water taxi to the fabulous Hotel Casa Nova Bauer, very quaint with classical ally beautiful Italian decorated comfortable rooms and immaculate 5 piece luxury bathrooms. Breakfast on the terrace veranda at the great Hotel Bauer Palazzo (which Casa Nova Bauer is an annex of the main hotel and just steps from the main Bauer) overlooking The Grand Canal, wonderful variety of choice buffet breakfast. The hotel is a within five minutes walk from St Mark’s Square, and five mins to the nearby San Marco vaporettas twenty minutes to Rialto Bridge. We travelled by the hotels private boat to the sister Hotel Bauer Palladio & Spa in Giudecca with great gardens and well-being. We stayed for four nights and also booked onto the free Venice Walking tour which we read about in a Tour Book - a definite must - we discovered the Northern districts and history of Venice. Perfect memorable sightseeing city break to Venice,Italy 🇮🇹❤️…
We had two adjoining rooms for our family of four. The Casanova annex is in a great location near St Mark’s square and just steps away from the main Bauer. We couldn’t have asked for more classically beautiful, comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet was wonderful and such a treat to eat overlooking the Grand Canal. The Concierges were very helpful recommending restaurants, etc. The front desk kindly sent up an instant kettle because I needed to be able to heat water. The rooftop bar is pricey but my husband and son enjoyed a memorable time up there one evening. I would definitely stay here again.
Don’t usually write reviews and have never written a negative review but feel I need to warn other travellers. I booked a suite for 3 nights in the Bauer palazzo for my wife’s birthday. When I booked I was fully aware this would be in the annexe called Casa Nova but being part of the Bauer Palazzo I assumed it would be the same quality as the main hotel. Upon check in we were took to the annexe which is around the corner from the main entrance in a small street, through a small door and up to our room. The annexe is very disappointing it is certainly not the same standard as the hotel which I have been in years previously it is more like there 3* sister hotel. This however isn’t why I’m writing the review! When we I arrived I couldn’t get the safe to work so as we were in a hurry to get out I put the £500 we had in my hand luggage bag and went out for the evening, something I have done many, many times in hotels all over the world. The next morning we went for breakfast and I noticed the door handle to the room was rattling but thought no more about it. Over the course of the 4 days/3 nights we were there, apart from the maid we never seen 1 member of the hotel staff in the building and the door to the Casa Nova was left open 3-4 times even when we were coming in after midnight. When we arrived home I emptied my hand luggage bag (which hadn’t been out of sight since leaving the room) to find the £500 gone. I immediately called the hotel to tell them about the loose door handle and general lack of security and my fears that the room had been broken into. They responded by email telling me there staff were trustworthy and that was that. I’m very disappointed by the hotels response and want to warn other people that if you value security DO NOT stay in this so called 5* Casa Nova.…
Was a little worried after booking as I wasn't quite sure what to expect when described as annex building. However, very pleasantly surprised! On check in, we were welcomed by a lovely lady on reception who showed us to our room. There was literally only a side path that separated the Bauer Palazzo hotel and the Casa Nova. We were upgraded to a suite in the casanova as I emailed previously advising it was our honeymoon and I mentioned I was a travel agent. Thank you again! The room was huge, very spacious and the bathroom was immaculate. Towels were changed daily and bathrobe & slippers were placed in our room. The breakfast in the Bauer Palazzo was great, wide variety of choice and the room overlooked the Grand Canal - perfect! The location of this property was fantastic, few minutes walk from St Marks Square and not too far from the Rialto Bridge. There is alot of designer shops that surround the hotel. The gondolas stopped outside of the hotel costing 80 euros for two people for 20 minute ride. We booked a water taxi direct from Hotel to airport that cost 130 euros. (expensive) We got the shared water taxi from the airport to St Marks Square that cost 15 euros per person but thought we would go back to the airport in style. I would highly reccommend the Casa Nova to friends, family and my customers looking to visit Venice. You would not be disappointed staying here.…
Before travelling to Venice I had checked the reviews for this hotel and was a little dubious about some of the negative comments and wondered as most be do, have we made the right decision. Absolutely yes, the rooms are an annex of the main 5 star Bauer Hotel , however the service and quality we experienced was first class and same high standard as the main Bauer Hotel. Rooms and bathrooms spotless, very comfortable and AC works well It was actually more convenient having our own access to the street rather than going through the hotel as you come and go . Best breakfast location in the city , right on the grand canal in the Bauer Hotel . Location wise , you are just a few minutes from San Marco sq and your water bus/taxi Getting to and from Marco Polo airport was very simple , pre paid for return tickets in the airport , taking the "blue route " and getting off at the San Marco terminal, 45 euros cash or 52 euros by credit card. Worth noting that the main Bauer hotel is very pricey if you intend to eat and drink there, if your not on a B&B basis, but we knew that before travelling. However overall this hotel warrants the 5 star rating , I would it recommend to all…
Right in the heart of the city this hotel is a 5 star but you can get great bargains if you book in advance. Lovely staff, very helpful and a wonderful location. Near to St Mark’s it is one of the best places to explore the city. There are three annex buildings but they are all ok. Breakfast is by the Grand Canal in the main building.
This is a beautiful town house, an annexe to the Bauer Palazzo and sharing all its amenities, a few hundred yards walk to San Marco Square. With antique furniture and fabric covered walls, it is quiet, very comfortable and beautifully equipped. Breakfast in the Palazzo restaurant is excellent, enhanced by the lovely views of the Grand Canal; in warmer weather, you can breakfast and dine in the open alongside the canal. I only wish I had booked to stay longer.
I absolutely loved this hotel. Our room was seriously beautiful, had amazing views and was immaculately clean. We were worried at first as it wasn’t in the main Bauer Pallazo building however I honestly think it was better!! I thought the breakfast was a little lacking for vegetarians/vegans but the service was outstanding and we felt very spoilt. Would 100% recommend this hotel for its atmosphere, service and location to all Venice has to offer.
Just returned from a three night trip to venice. Initially we were booked into another hotel, the monaco grand, with british airways. When we went to check in they told us they were overbooked and tried to fob us off with a two star dump three streets away. After a call to british airways they promptly sent us to the bauer where we greeted by Lucia. She was wonderful. Even though she had not yet received an e mail from briish airways telling her of our plight she took us in, had coffees and nibbles brought to us whilst she sorted everything out. We were then led to a beautiful suite. The breakfast were excellent but my highest praise is for the staff. They "go the extra mile" and make their guests feel extra special. Everyone of them was excellent but a special thankyou and a gold star to lucia. Wonderful holiday. Thankyou…
