Loved this place. Generous size rooms (not typical for Venice) and clean and modern. Cannareggio is the best place for quiet, non-touristy local. Filled with Venetian Mosaics. beautiful but clean and modern. There is a mosaic making factory out back. They make the mosaic glass pieces, not the art. You can find Chichetti bars filled with real Venetians close by....

This past August visit was our third to this lovely small hotel in a quiet, residential area of Venice. There are wonderful restaurants in the area and the vaporetto is convenient. Be prepared to walk...to everything. And, I don't just mean to the vaporetto for transport. A delightful restaurant may be across a small canal, but you must find a...

The Pension is very individual as it is the manufactury of mosaics Close to the Pension, in this case the Rooms are each differently styled with mosaics. You can also get Information of the production and visit the manufacture. The breakfast is as usual in italy.

My wife and I had an awesome few days and loved our room and stay at Domus Orsoni. Valentina was the perfect host, she provided great directions to find it and then helped us find some great places to eat and book the opera on our last night. Thanks Valentina. Darren and Leigh

Very nice accommodation, larger than usual for Europe - that is the room with the private balcony. In a quite ally but close enough to food and walking the city. We were there two nights, could have stayed longer and would go back if we go back to Venice.

Very disappointed in this hotel. It very badly needs to be renovated. The sheets were clean but the other bed linens like blanket and bed cover were old and needed to be replaced as do the towels. The furnishings were old and mismatched. The bathroom had a tub that was tiny and uncomfortable for an average sized person and the...

My wife and I stayed here at the beginning of this year's carnival. Located in the Sestiere di Cannaregio, just steps from one of the first stops of the Alilaguna public waterbus (Guglie), this five-room hotel is well situated to provide quick access both to the charms of Venice and transport in and out of the city. It is also...

What can i say about my stay... Valentina was so nice. She greeted us warmly with open arms and ensured we were taken care of until we left. Room was phenomenal. We took the room with the private balcony and absolutely lvoed it. Felt like we were in a theatre room or something. Everything worked as it should, and it...

I stayed here for 2 weeks, doing a mosaic course at the Orsoni studio. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience, beautiful location in a more quiet area of Venice, access to the studio day and night, staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.

This is a nice but reasonably basis place to stay. It is perfectly comfortable but by far the best thing is that it is not touristy. Location is quiet but close to things and as working mosaic factory and workshop you feel that you are there as part of the real city not just as one the invading tourist horde....

Staying in Cannaregio

Neighborhood Profile
Cannaregio
Cannaregio is the second largest sestiere (district) with its busy Santa Lucia train station. Many transplanted Venetians commute from the outlying areas, “terra firma” to the locals, which is shorthand for any place that is not Venice. Two Grand Canal bridges serve Cannaregio, the newest (Constitution, 2008) still a local hotbed of controversy. Ponte degli Scalzi is a busy link to the train station. Nearby shops on the Lista di Spagna offer specialties like pastries and coffee that lure Venetians with a down-to-earth attitude. The Ghetto, where the Jewish population was segregated in Cannaregio, has five historic synagogues with an active Jewish community. The Fondamente Nove bustles with foot traffic to the Rialto and San Marco while vaporettos (water taxis) head to Murano and other islands. Side streets lead into quiet picturesque neighborhoods and palaces like Ca' d'Oro rise directly out of the water.
