My wife and I enjoyed a four night stay at this lovely apartment. Spacious, beautifully decorated with all amenities that you could want. Street views over via Garibaldi and to the waterfront from a lovely long balcony catching the sun till early evening with views over the rooftops too. Plus our own lizard hunting through the flowerpots on the balcony... More

What a find. The attic apartment is a fantastic size and well equipped. Not recommended however if you struggle with stairs or you perhaps have a pushchair. At the time of writing the owners run it as a B&B, but they are about to change it to an apartment. It has a full size kitchen already. The apartment is immaculately... More

Really enjoyed our stay here, the property is located within easy reach of the centre of Venice, but nicely tucked away on a street with a good selection of restaurants. Can come and go as you please, and breakfast left outside your door every morning consisting of pastries, cakes and bread. Private balcony with view of the water. Thank you... More

We stayed at Ca' Alexander in September 2014 (party of 3 adults). The apartment is impeccable, very well appointed (the king size bed was very comfortable, not something you always find in rentals), and ideally located (off the main tourist drag, but within easy walking distance of St Mark's square. Local waterbus stop is a short walk away. Food shops... More

Fantantastic place to stay and see Venice. Sabrina gave us excellent directions and if you go into the website there is a short video showing her waking to the apartment so we found it very easy to find. Ideal location about 10 minutes walk to St Marcs Square. The best part was the roof terrace, it had fantanstic views and... More

We have just returned from 4 nights in the attic apartment and had a wonderful time. The apartment was a little tricky to find, but once we did it was divine. We stayed as a couple and there was plenty of space. Some key points: Getting there and around: We got the Alilaguna boat from the airport and then walked... More

I was in the Attic appartment and really enjoyed my stay. The appartment was even better than expected, clean, fully equiped and comfortable. The hosts were very gracious and informative and wonderfully unintrusive. The appartment is by all sense and purposes independant. It is placed in a quiet area at night there was absolute silence. The terrace gives wonderful views... More

Our two week vacation in Italy included a two-night stay at this wonderful B&B and it was one of our favorite spots! Immaculately clean, friendly hosts, perfect location away from the crowds of tourists, magnificent views - a perfect find! Having never been to Venice, I was worried about being "on the outskirts" of the city in Castello - but... More

My husband and I stayed in the Ca' delle Ancore apartment while our friends stayed in the Ca' Alexander B&B, in October 2012. The Castello was the perfect area to stay in and the street where our accomodation was fanstastic. Lined with everything you could ever need this street was quiet, clean and the sight of people walking their dogs... More

A fantastic apartment, spacious for our family of four (two children), they loved collecting the fresh breakfast placed at the bottom of the stairs each morning. It was quiet, clean, modern, with a wonderful terrace with great views overlooking Venice and the daily street life below, just out of the crowded centre of Venice but within easy walking distance to... Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
