We stayed in the 1 bedroom apartment suite, definately worth the little extra $ to have a beautiful big apartment during our stay in venice. The bathroom was very clean and new and the furniture was all modern. The breakfast was delicious and the chef on site is very warm and friendly. Makes the best omelette ive ever had! Location...

Batik room for 2 nights in March. All the staff we met at the hotel were extremely friendly and the lady on reception exceptionally helpful with travel arrangements. Breakfast varied and a great start to the day. This is Venice so the room was not huge but spotless, charming decoration and it has a balcony facing west so you get...

We will definitely be returning to Ca' dei Dogi when we next visit Venice. The location is absolutely perfect, not far from the main strip, but off a little alley so that it is very quiet. The room, although a little small, was very modern and had everything we needed. The staff was extremely friendly upon our arrival and helpful...

Derek & I loved the place and the hospitality shown to us by Ca Dei Dogi from 13-16 May! We had such great memories when we were staying there & thanks for the complimentary prosecco! You guys were the only hotel that remembered our little memo (unlike in Rome & Milano), and for that, we greatly appreciate and thank you...

We couldn't fault the Dama apartment at Ca'dei Dogi. It was immaculate, spotlessly clean and equipped with all you could possibly need, although we didn't use the kitchen as we ate out. The pictures don't really do it justice. The fixtures and fittings are good quality and contemporary. There were just 2 of us, but we would return with our...

Can: There is a wall mold area near the headboard next to the window needed to be taken care of. Pro: wonderful staff, great breakfast, good shower, exceptionally comfortable bed. Small but totally well-thought + functional room.

The location is incredibly convenient to Venice's best attractions, although a bit hard to find. We loved the personal attention from the concierge, and the breakfasts each morning.morning. Each evening before dinner we got together on the rooftop for wine and conversation. It is a small hotel that goes all out to make you feel welcome.

We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel for a number of reasons. First we were given a free upgrade to a nicer room. The room itself was clean and comfortable. It was, of course, small, but so is everything in Venice. Their complimentary breakfast is generous and tasty. Staff is very helpful. It was very nice to wake up...

Such a great and hospitable place. Susanna at the front desk was so accommodating. Rooms are small but cozy and we had a private balcony. Breakfast is downstairs at Taverna De Dogi and it was very good and filling. Ali was strong and brought our bags upstairs. Great guy!! Location is perfect really guy behind Piazza San Marco. Highly recommend!!

It has everything you need including a great shower. They include breakfast which is perfect. Only a few steps from the main Lagoon and water taxis. This was a perfect spot for a couple nights in Venice. Highly recommend.

Staying in Castello

Neighborhood Profile
Castello
Castello is the largest of the six sestieri (districts), and the only one not facing onto the Grand Canal. More than half of Castello is situated within Arsenale, the naval base, which occupies over one-fifth the area of Venice. This gentrified maritime neighborhood feels busy but casual. Castello’s side streets are laid back, with small boats lining canals criss-crossed by laundry. Semiannual exhibitions add a strong artsy current to the Arsenale area. Via Garibaldi in Castello, with its shops and bars, has one of Venice's rare straight and wide boulevards. When a large ship turns around the Lido to enter the Giudecca Canal, the startling sight creates an illusion that it will run aground right on Via Garibaldi! Families treasure Giardini near the island's tip, green with rare trees and grass, and Riva degli Schiavoni is a popular spot for Venetians to take a stroll to watch the sunset.
