Stayed in the Pantalone junior suite for 4 nights in early August. It was wonderful. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they're siblings whose family owns the B & B. Alberto, the youngest brother, helped us on multiple occasions. Good daily breakfast included as well as a small coffee/tea and croissant selection available in the sitting room during non-breakfast... More

We arrived at night and having never been to Venice before it took a little while to find the b&b from the train station, but google maps and the phone torch helped! Should have just followed the signs to the natural history museum (well worth a quick visit by the way) which is just up the road. Very happy to... More

Beautiful town, best seafood pasta I have ever had steps away from this B & B. Hotel never seemed crowded and the gal at the front desk was quite pleasant. Main attractions are about 20 minutes away by foot both Rialto and San Marco square.

I enjoyed my stay and appreciated the friendly advice and support from the managers. The breakfast was good. The hotel has great character and a good location for getting around. Two things that could be improved were better internet access- the wifi did not reach my room and was very slow- and better mosquito repellent. The only place I saw... More

A charming place located in the historical center of Venice. Very close from the Canal Grande and also very quiet because far enough from San Marco and Rialto Bridge (15 mn walk). The Junior Suite with Altana is particularly pleasant. It has its own private terrace where you can have your breakfast overlooking the roofs of Venice. To finish with,... More

Absolutely fantastic hotel, it has a great personal touch. The reception team were brilliant and helpful, they were very informative. We stayed in the Junior Suite, I'm so happy with the room. So comfortable. The location of the hotel was also great. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. I'd book this hotel again without a doubt.

We stayed at Ca' San Giorgio in June 2016. The location was good--about a ten-minute walk from the Santa Lucia train station. The hotel is charming. We had booked two rooms for our family and both were attractive and comfortable. An excellent breakfast was provided in a very sunny and pleasant room, with cups of coffee or cappuccino made to... We needed a room for one night as we made our way back towards Rome. The price was a little higher then what we had found, but it was worth the price. The room was large and right off the lobby. It looked like they had recently remodeled the room to a high standard. The bathroom suite was an impressive... More

This was our second visit to Ca San Giorgio and it was as good as our first visit. The rooms are well equipped and a peaceful nights sleep is assured. The hotel can be reached by the water buses known as Vaporettos. Its best to get instructions from the Hotel and then use Google Maps to “see” your way from... More

An inviting and warm B&B with great staff, who gave us a fantastic run down of the city & suggestions on how to best utilise our time. The quiet location is superb, so peaceful & away from the craziness of San Marco but still so accessible to everything in Venice. From the train station there are quite a few steps... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
