Absolutely fantastic hotel, it has a great personal touch. The reception team were brilliant and helpful, they were very informative. We stayed in the Junior Suite, I'm so happy with the room. So comfortable. The location of the hotel was also great. I couldn't recommend this hotel enough. I'd book this hotel again without a doubt.

We stayed at Ca' San Giorgio in June 2016. The location was good--about a ten-minute walk from the Santa Lucia train station. The hotel is charming. We had booked two rooms for our family and both were attractive and comfortable. An excellent breakfast was provided in a very sunny and pleasant room, with cups of coffee or cappuccino made to... We needed a room for one night as we made our way back towards Rome. The price was a little higher then what we had found, but it was worth the price. The room was large and right off the lobby. It looked like they had recently remodeled the room to a high standard. The bathroom suite was an impressive... More

This was our second visit to Ca San Giorgio and it was as good as our first visit. The rooms are well equipped and a peaceful nights sleep is assured. The hotel can be reached by the water buses known as Vaporettos. Its best to get instructions from the Hotel and then use Google Maps to “see” your way from... More

An inviting and warm B&B with great staff, who gave us a fantastic run down of the city & suggestions on how to best utilise our time. The quiet location is superb, so peaceful & away from the craziness of San Marco but still so accessible to everything in Venice. From the train station there are quite a few steps... More

The hotel was easy to find with the directions off their website. We originally planned to leave our main luggage at the bus station as we were joining a cruise the next day but decided to give it a go. It was a bit warm to pull cases but not too far at all with just two small bridges. Check... More

We arrived at the hotel after an early flight and were immediately met by the lovely owner. It was still 11am and check in was not meant to be until 2pm but we were quickly checked in early and managed to get showered and changed before heading out to explore the city. The owner gave us amazing directions before we... More

My husband and I spent four nights at this lovely B&B and were so glad we did. We found the B&B very friendly and helpful so we were able to make the most of our time in Venice. This was our first Venice trip. We arrived after hours but had no trouble finding the B&B, thanks to the excellent instructions... More

Ca' San Giorgio is a Charming B&B in a convenient location. Not far on foot (but too far to carry luggage) from the train station, you are centrally located to all Venice has to offer. A 10 minute walk to Ponte Rialto and 15 minutes to Piazza San Marco. Maria was delightful and made everything very easy for us including... More

My husband and I spent 3 nights at this beautiful B&B in a quiet section of Venice. It's located close to all the tourist sights but far enough away for peace and quiet. Camilla is very friendly, upon checking in she helped us navigate the city, made reservations at an excellent restaurant for us and suggested things to do, including... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
