We stayed here for 5 nights and it was very relaxing especially after our busy days spent exploring. Upon our arrival we were warmly greeted by Camila who gave us the low down and as much information as we wanted about what to do and where to go before showing us to our room. Our room which was a classic... More

Lovely little guest house (I think 8 rooms), in a residential area. Fantastic service - even packed us a breakfast for the morning we left since it was before the served breakfast hours. Clean and comfortable room - we had a king bed so there wasn't much room to walk around, but that is the norm in places like Venice.... More

Very nice, clean room w/large bathroom. Situated on a quiet street very close to the Grand Canal. Only approx 4-5 minutes to the water bust stop. Nice small restaurants close by. Very friendly service from the staff.

Our family stayed here three nites and we had three separate rooms. We found this hotel/B&B just perfect. Far enough away from the maddening crowds to be quaint and quite, yet close enough to vaporetto stops and within walking distance of all major sites. Its location is also close to several great and reasonably priced restaurants, e.g. Osteria La Bottega... More

Very nice spacious rooms. English speaking & very accommodating. Nice central location. Breakfast room was a little crowded. Clean & well equipped. WiFi worked great. We had a room with a window which opened. There were 4 floors & no elevator.

The hotel is beautiful with a cute little courtyard inside the main front door. It's perfectly locked if you want to be away from the tourist traps of San Marco, a short walk from the San Stae vaporetto stop. There are an abundance of great restaurants and bars nearby, all offering much better value than those closer to Rialto and... More

Everything is so nice at Ca' San Giorgio. We looked forward to returning after our first stay 5 years ago. This B&B increases the enjoyment of visiting Venice. Looking forward to a return visit some day, Silvia Camilla & Maria. Thank you!

Venice was the last stop on our honeymoon, so we researched a lot of places to stay. And I think we did a great job! The hotel is beautiful! It is also staffed by incredible people (Maria and Silvia) who are very helpful with any information from things to do (Campanila on San Giorgio, Aqua Alta Book Store, etc.) show... More

Beautiful little hotel/B&B - we couldn't quite figure out which. The room was nice (not overly ornate like many in Venice), and the bathroom was beautiful! Staff were very friendly. Couple of small complaints would be that the shampoo, body wash and cream had been 1/3 used already, there was no full length mirror, and the shower leaked. The continental... More

Stayed in the Pantalone junior suite for 4 nights in early August. It was wonderful. The staff is very friendly and helpful, they're siblings whose family owns the B & B. Alberto, the youngest brother, helped us on multiple occasions. Good daily breakfast included as well as a small coffee/tea and croissant selection available in the sitting room during non-breakfast... More

Staying in Santa Croce

Neighborhood Profile
Santa Croce
Santa Croce gained importance as a sestiere (district) when Piazzale Roma was created in the 1930s to bring cars and buses close to the center of Venice. Constitution Bridge spans the Grand Canal linking Piazzale Roma to the train station. This area buzzes with energy from travelers and students. Historic palaces and former industrial buildings house some departments of Ca' Foscari and IUAV Architecture universities. On the Fondaco dei Turchi, Venice's Museum of Natural History offers Venetians prehistoric thrills, plus an overview of lagoon fish and wildlife. The Grand Canal, northern boundary of Santa Croce, is lined with palaces and decorated by the tall green dome of San Simeon Piccolo. Ca' Pesaro attracts Venetians to its contemporary art exhibitions. The Grand Canal exposes only one face of these buildings. On the opposite side, the palace often interacts with a square or a busy street to represent its neighborhood identity.
