Late on review- but not late on praise, great location, great staff and very good breakfast. Perfect location- within walking of many sites. Prefer this location to hotel used by travel group. When back in Venice will return. Was unsure given other reviews, but exceeded our needs. May not be fancy hotel, but very comfortable and friendly. Well suited for... More

This lovely little hotel was recommended by friends who'd stayed there twice and we couldn't agree more with their positive comments. We'd had to cancel our initial stay because of health reasons so really appreciated the friendly, positive service we received from the owners. When we arrived they went out of their way to make us welcome, nothing was too... More

Wouldn’t recommend staying at this hotel and am very surprised at the other positive reviews. Our room was dull, uninviting with old chipped furniture. We could hear noise from other guests through the thin walls. Breakfast was low quality. Too expensive for this mediocre style accommodation.

Stayed 3 nights in this hotel end of August/first week of September. Arrived very late at night but found that upon arrival our keys and room was ready and the owner was able to unlock the front door for us remotely; very convenient. The hotel is charming. We had room 14 on the top floor. A little tricky to get... More

Booked two rooms at this hotel for one night pre-cruise. After reading excellent TA reviews I expected more. This was our third visit staying in Venice and I expected small rooms but felt both rooms were drab and minimalist to say the least. The walls were so thin you could hear every cough, sneeze etc from other guests and there... More

Dear guest, we are very sorry to read your words. The title of your review "Overrated" in our opinion is not... great towards the majority of our guests (the ones who "overrate" us). Anyway, we have just one room with canal view (and partly Ca D'Oro view) and it's not the room you've booked, therfore we are sure there was... More

Out of all of the hotel stays in Italy, Locanda Poste Vecie was the most pleasant hotel my boyfriend and I went to. The hotel was walking distance from the tourist spots and offers rooms with more than enough space, with a good amount of amenities. Although it was a short walk to touristy areas, it was not too noisy... More

We stayed at Locanda for 3nights, and had a perfect stay!!! Very nice small hotell next to the fishmarked. View to a small canal and the fishmarked. Breakfast was okay, not the biggest but ok. Bread, croissant, juice, yoghurt ++ 15min walk to San Marco, easy to take the waterbuss. Went to Burano and Murano by boat, ticket 24hours for 20£ pr.person.. used... More

We stayed at Locanda Poste Vecie for just 1 night and had a pleasant stay. We had a double and triple room. Making the reservations and subsequent communications were very good and we had no issues with payment. The double room has a queen bed and the A/C works excellent. Locanda Poste Vecie is a very comfortable hotel in a good location, near the Grand Canal. Whilst it is small (many buildings in Venice are!) it is a very nice place to retire to after a day sightseeing. Located close to a vaporetto stop and to many delightful restaurants, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. The only downside I can... More

A small boutique hotel near the fish market. A bit tricky to find but thanks to Google Maps on my mobile phone it wasn't a problem. Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
