This small hotel is close to the train station and set back in a quiet paved street. Very easy to get to the main vaparetto stop making travel around this wonderful city very easy. Our room was quiet and clean with it's own small yard. A nice continental breakfast was available each morning from 7:30 which if the weather was...

My wife and I spend 2 nights here in Mid September and really loved it. Nicolina was EXTREMELY welcoming and helpful as this was our first trip to Italy. He even helped us coordinate some other areas of our trip thru Italy. It was easy to find and within walking distance to the train and bus stations (even with luggage)....

We stayed for two nights in August. Very close to train station, vaparetto boats, easily within walking distance to everything. When you look at a map, it looks like everything is far away, but a few back streets and bridges can get you anywhere you want to go. The front desk made phone calls for us to confirm tours that...

My husband and I stayed here three nights in May. We wanted a small hotel near the train station. It was perfect. We only had a couple of bridges to cross and did so very easily. We learned this from our first visit to Venice. The directions the hotel emailed us on their location were very helpful. We loved the...

Stayed here twice for a week. Nice family hotel with very friendly stuff. Great location in a quite place, which is just about 15 minutes from San-Marco and 5 minutes from bus and train stations, so you won't have to get over numerous bridges with your suitcases. Some rooms have separate entrance from the courtyard. Rooms are pretty small, but...

We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in May. We stayed in a triple room in the back. It was absolutely perfect! Very quiet and comfortable! The breakfast each morning in the quaint breakfast room was so nice! We also enjoyed using the same room in the evenings to use the wifi that worked great! It is very close...

We've just stayed at this delightful B&B for three nights. It is very easy to find. The owners and staff are very friendly and welcoming. They are multilingual. Our room (economy) was very clean and nicely furnished. The bathroom was big for an economy room and the breakfast was fine. The B&B is only a few hundred metres away from...

We stayed at this really nice B&B for 3 nights before a cruise and chose this hotel for its fast accessibility both from public transport and car park and because of the positive reviews here. We were not disappointed: The receptionist was friendly and very helpful, e.g., with sightseeing tips. The room (superior) was cosy and quiet. The breakfast selection...

My friend and I stayed in this lovely B & B for four nights. The hotel is very close to the bus station and the reception from all of the staff was friendly and welcoming. This pensione was in a good location for land transportation and made our departing early flight transportation easy. The owner was accomodating to allow us to check in early on a rainy day after departing our cruise. We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed 2 good restaurants in the area. However, there were several issues. The manager is only available...

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
