The B&B was a little hard to find (we arrived after dark so weren't very prepared). Once you get your bearings, you soon realise this B&B is ideally located for the main sites including the Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square. Lovely owners, very friendly and happy to advise on where to visit, how to get about etc. Breakfast is...

We arrived to Venice around 9:30p on a Friday night and attempted to make our way to the B&B in the dark without a street map (note that Google maps isn’t a huge help in Venice, so don’t show up here empty-handed…especially in the dark!). What should have been about a 15 minute walk (pretty straight shot) turned into about...

The B&B is bit difficult to find but its a very cosy and comfortable for couple of nights stay. The breakfast was bit limited in time and choice BUT very good! Especially they have home made yogurt which is really delicious! We took the room with external bathroom, which was bit disturbing in the beginning, but it turned to be...

It´s true that this place is hard to find, but the location is wonderful for exploring Venice, with the boat stop San Stae in walking distance. The apartment feels very authentic, the bed was fine and so was the bathroom. We liked the breakfast options, too.

Romantic apartment, beautiful living room, ancient mirrors and furniture. Convenient location but hard to find, without a map - it is impossible! High speed WiFi connection, and its quiet place, its important

We stayed at this B&B because we couldn't find a hotel that was within our desired area; we also booked it about two weeks from our stay. But we're so happy we came across this B&B. Maurizio, the host/owner, was so kind and made our stay feel as if we were staying with family. The room was very clean, nice,...

Currently staying at this great little b&b, ignore all the old reviews regarding the grump lady....she's gone! The new owners can't do enough and seem to be very pleasant. The breakfast is nice with a good selection. The room itself is a good size with a comfy bed, it's very clean and great value for money, would definitely come back.

Very clean, comfortable, nice, with air conditioner, pretty bathrooms and good breakfast. The service was amazing and the people were very helpful and kind with us. We were staying two nights in an another horrible hotel and we run away. Ca' del Modena was our savior. It fulfilled all of our expectations.

Pleasantly surprised w/the beautiful accommodations at this B&B. Nicholas and Mauricio must be new since the last reviews. Nicholas even came to ferry to help us find the hotel. Mauricio and his staff prepared a glorious breakfast for the guests....anything we wished. What a treat......we'll be back again!

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
