We took the line number 1 ACTV to arrive at our dock. The B&B was a little challenging to find along the canal with the narrow walkways, but we were able to contact the B&B and the gentleman working gave us better directions and walked out onto the street to wait for us. Our room was upstairs with a view... More

Our stay was quite pleasant. Our room was upstairs, A/C worked well. We had a lovely breaksfast in the courtyard. The manager had set up a table for each of the guests. I struggled on my rating. I wanted to give more but due to the fact that we were there to sleep I could only give a 3. The... More

Dear, thank you so much for your stay in our House!! Unfortunately it is not easy to satisfy all our guests about the beds ... there are those who prefer hard, others soft ... we opted for the hard .... however, in the future we will do a survey for this :) Thank you! More

So we arrived mid afternoon to a pleasant enough gentlemen who seemed to understand the concept of a hotel, and explained the usual to me and my friend. However, after arriving back at the hotel after a few drinks the same evening, we were met with an unpleasant night manager who seemed to be outraged at the fact we had... More

We found this place from Rick Steves and it was quaint and small as advertised. To make traveling to the hotel easier we dropped most of our luggage at our final hotel near the Venice airport. With only a few small items travel on the Vaporetto was a snap. The stop on the Vaporetto is Ca' Rezzonico and it is... More

Spent one night here. The room was comfortably appointed and air conditioned, however, it was at the top floor of the building, up a narrow staircase, which would not be appropriate for those with mobility problems. The breakfast of cold cereals, yogurt, breads and pastries was adequate. The coffee from the push button machine was surprisingly good. The location was... More

My husband and I stayed at Casa Rezzonico just a few weeks ago. It was a wonderful beginning to our vacation. The hosts were gracious and helpful. The weather allowed us to breakfast in the garden in the back. It was so peaceful. The coffee was great! There are excellent restaurants and coffee /bakeries nearby. It was easy to get... More

My wife and I stayed at Casa Rezzonico for a short visit to Venice. We liked that it's in a non-touristy area of Venice, while still a short walk to the Accademia bridge, with St. Mark's Square not much further. The room was relatively small, but the right size for what we were looking for. The bathroom was clean and... More

Venice can be crowded, but walking a few hundred feet off of the main tourist tracks brought us to a quiet and comfortable hotel. We stayed three nights in a room overlooking the garden. This was an oasis after sightseeing. Our hosts were excellent, providing any information that we needed, and breakfast!

We stayed 3 nights here in a canalside room. It is in the Dourosdoua, a nice quiet area. Although there are some loud church bells during the day, it is quiet at night. The hotel has a lovely back garden and a decent breakfast buffet. The rooms are vintage but fairly comfortable. Bathrooms work well and we had plenty of... More

We stayed here for one night on a short visit to Venice after a three day break in Rome. Was really impressed with this hotel. It was a lovely hotel, well maintained, comfortable beds and spacious rooms. It had a gorgeous little garden to the back of the hotel too. Sadly it was raining when we were there so didn't... More

Staying in Dorsoduro / Accademia

Neighborhood Profile
Dorsoduro / Accademia
Artsy is the defining mood of this neighborhood with street artists, students, painters, sculptors, restorers, curators, historians, collectors, heirs and heiresses rubbing elbows. Peggy Guggenheim's collection, now a museum, lures chic locals for evening art aperitifs. Traditionalists and visionaries cocoon in bohemian luxury. La Salute basilica buttresses the neighborhood to the east. Gondolas bob in the morning light. The Accademia Bridge crosses the Grand Canal. A back street doubles as basketball court. Palaces house residents, or like Ca' Foscari a university, or a museum like Ca’ Rezzonico that attracts Venetians for concerts. Dorsoduro reveals its industrial roots too, in buildings converted to house university departments or exhibitions. Campo Santa Margherita bursts with youthful energy from local students. Foot traffic bustles to and from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia train station. Evening commuters pause for an aperitivo. Neighbors exchange confidants in a campo (square) on their way to market.
