How this hotel is only a 2* I will never know! I have recently returned from a 2 night stay at the Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo and cannot fault it! We stayed in the annex and our room was simply beautiful. Huge amounts of space which has been well furnished/decorated. Our room was spotless. Breakfast was provided in the cost...

I don’t usually write such detailed reviews but this hotel was so perfect that I think it warrants it! And hopefully some of these tips/details will help other travellers like ourselves whilst researching Venice :-) Getting there from the airport: We took the vaparetto (water bus) from the airport to the hotel and it took about 1 hour and was...

Great room, great location and great staff. We stayed for five nights over the new year period, and felt really at home here. Breakfasts were the perfect way to start the days and the location was just right - not too close to the buzz but still within a few minutes walk of where we wanted to go. We will...

I almost didn't book this hotel because of their two star rating, but it would have been a mistake to stay away. The hotel is very clean, comfortable, and nicely decorated. It's very close to the Alilaguna San Stae stop and the grand canal. The staff is friendly and the hotel is small so there isn't much noise. And it's...

Nothing to complain about the hotel. The breakfast was good. If you go to the airport with Alilaguna boats allow enough time. The boats run every half an hour and are small. It might not be place for you on the next one.

Great small hotel. Hard to find fault. We were placed in the building across the bridge from the main hotel, but no complaints. Beautiful Venetian decorated room (no view unfortunately) that for-filled our needs. Spotless, quiet, comfortable and a great base for sight seeing at a very reasonable price. Breakfast was simple with helpful pleasant staff assisting. I have already...

You are probably going to land at Marco Polo airport and need to transfer to the hotel right? Otherwise why are you reading this? Out of baggage claim you need to head upstairs to Departures and pick up the blue signs for Water Taxis / Boats. It's a bit of a long walk, but there are many moving walkways to...

We stayed here for 2 nights during our week long visit to Italy! Though we found it a bit tricky to locate the place when we landed in Venice.. Everything else from there was good and only good.. The staff was very helpful and was a smooth check-in.. They went out of their way to help us with some needs...

Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo is about a 15 minute walk from Santa Lucia train station or right by San Stae vaporetto stop, so it's very accessible. The hotel has it's own private bridge (although it has a side and rear entrance too) which was quite an impressive introduction to the hotel. The service, from check-in to check-out, was fantastic -...

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay very much. Our room was beautifully furnished, comfortable and spotlessly clean with an en suite with a bath and shower. The breakfast was buffet style with plenty of choice and the staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
