We arrived in Venice around 6pm which was already dark in November so we could not appreciate the stunning Venetian landscape. So if you can, arrive during daylight hours so you can appreciate that first feeling of the beauty of the canals and the water that surrounds the palazzos, streets and buildings. It was not complicated to arrive to the...

My wife and I really enjoyed our 2 night-3 day stay at this Hotel. Great location 3 stops from the train station via the Vaporetto (Water Bus). We were worried when we were shown out of the main hotel area a few doors down to the "annex" where our room was located. When the door opened to this tapestry covered...

My husband, daughter and I stayed here for 3 nights and loved every minute of Venice. The hotel is located very close to the Vaporetta station and close enough to restaurants, lovely souvenir shops and gelato shops 😊. The hotel was beautifully decorated and the staff were always happy to see you. We loved the complimentary breakfast and general hospitality....

Don't stay anywhere else. Quit looking. I researched for an embarrassing amount of time, but finding this gem was BEYOND worth it. EVERYTHING about this hotel is perfection. The front desk staff is helpful, accommodating, and pleasant all of the time. The guy that helped check us in found out we were late to a tour, so he stored our...

We stayed here for 4 nights on the last leg of our 2 week long European honeymoon. The staff are some, if not the absolute nicest people we encountered while in Venice. They upgraded us to a larger room. And they even carried our bags upstairs. The room was absolutely gorgeous!! The entire hotel is beautiful. Easy to find. Easy...

A very nice hotel with friendly staff and old beamed ceilings. The annex is just as comfortable as the main hotel. The location is very good 3 mins from a Vaparetto station on the Grand Canal and 15 minutes walk from the Rialto, but maybe 60 minutes walk from the Rialto back to the hotel due to the maze like...

We had a wonderful stay in Venice, we have been to Venice a few times, but this hotel exceeded expectations. Away from the tourist areas but close enough to enjoy, lovely petite breakfast, gorgeous room furnishings. We had the superior room which was large for our needs. Enjoyed our stay and will be back again.

Its been about 2 years since we stayed here, and now that we are returning in 10 days ( a statement enough perhaps), I figured I should write my thoughts. The hotel is easy to find off the water bus stop Stan Stae ( a 5 min walk), and the staff greeting was very nice. Because they had the availability,...

We spend two nights in this hotel and we're very satisfied with the location and service offered. The hotel is easy to reach by water taxi from the train station as well as the airport, and from the hotel you can reach all the sleight seeing places on the island by a short walk. It does not have a restaurant...

Based on TA reviews and a recommendation from a friend, we booked a 2 night stay prior to an Adriatic cruise. We couldn't have been happier with the entire experience. The pre-stay communications were very helpful with directions and recommendations for dining and sightseeing . Arriving Midday the Venice airport, we followed the directions to take the #5 bus to...

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
