Secret jewel in this fabulous city! Rooms are very large by European standards. A few have a balcony. Last time we had a room with a balcony overlooking a small canal and this time we had a larger room with a balcony overlooking one of the pedestrian walks. Both were great! The courtyard breakfast area looks like something out of... More

Charming/beautiful rooms tucked away in the annex. Check in was a process in explaining how to get into the room and the annex building. But once in the room it was a fantastic stay. we stayed in a triple room and loved the decor and feel of the room. Hotel offered a decent breakfast in the beautiful courtyard. Located a... More

We enjoyed our recent stay at Hotel Al Ponte Mocenigo in Venice. It is very convenient--very near the San Stae vaporetto stop, so it was easy to find. Nice king sized bed...air conditioning...quiet street. Would definitely stay here again!

I chose this hotel based on the many excellent review on trip advisor - and it lived up to all of them! The room, though small, was clean and tasteful. In the annex, though that was no problem - just a few steps to the main hotel. The front desk staff were very pleasant and helpful. The breakfast was the... More

We greatly enjoyed our four nights at Mocenigo. We stayed in a elegant and spacious room in the hotel's annex enjoying a view over the canal. All dealings with the staff and managers at the hotel, were efficient and pleasant. The location of the hotel is great - about a minute from a vaporetto stop (which is also used by... More

Ideal location in a crowded Venice. We really enjoyed our stay at this brilliantly presented hotel. Having spent our days enjoying the sites (and crowds) that Venice has to offer this was the perfect place to retreat to to relax and find some gorgeous bars and restaurants on the quieter side of the city. The room was comfortable and brilliantly... More

We visited Mocenigo for our honeymoon and could not have been happier with our choice. Venice was our first stop and after reading all the raving reviews of the hotel, we were excited to be staying at Mocenigo. The property is very well located, charming, and the staff were all lovely and helpful. We stayed in the "annex" and had... More

A well run hotel central to everything. Attention to cleanliness which is appreciated and delightful staff. Breakfast limited in healthy content as mostly pastries although fresh fruit salad was available. Not a hotel to relax in but then Venice is all about sightseeing.

Easy access with either a water taxi direct to their door, or a few steps from San Stae vaporetta stop, which you can take from either the train station (2 stops) or the airport. It's a 10 minute walk to Rialto Bridge or the other direction to Jewish Quarter. Get a vaporetta pass and use it to get you around... More

A unique, stylish, quant little hotel. Very clean. Styled in a modern Venetian manner. Our large double room was spacious and comfortable. Staff were extremely helpful in tours and directions. Great selection for breakfast. Happy and friendly waiting staff. Highly recommend a stay here. It will only add to your wonderful Venice experience.

Staying in San Polo

Neighborhood Profile
San Polo
The Rialto Bridge is the most famous sight along the Grand Canal in San Polo, smallest of Venice's six sestieri (districts) and by far the busiest neighborhood. Morning Venetians arrive to peruse the markets for fish, fruit and vegetables, while shops display goods from cheese to wine to desserts. San Silvestro and Rialto Market vaporetto (water taxi) stops add to the steady stream of foot traffic. San Polo is defined by churches including Basilica dei Frari, one of the most important churches sought by art lovers.
